Your missions

Company Description

Catch22 exists to help build a society where everyone has a good place to live, good people around them, and a fulfilling purpose. We call these our '3Ps'.

We achieve this in two ways. Firstly, we improve lives on the frontline through delivery of public services. Secondly, we use our knowledge to change 'the system', to fix the complex web that can trap and disempower those it was set up to help. With the heart of a charity and the mindset of a business, we are uniquely placed to deliver on this challenging agenda.

We’re a large organisation, with over 120 services operating across 5 different hubs: justice, young people and families, education, employability and skills and apprenticeships.

Job Description

Overview of the role

Sitting within Catch22’s Communications and Policy Team, you will lead on public affairs activity relating to our TikTok Creative Academy programme, which supports young people facing barriers to work into jobs in the cultural and creative sectors.

You will work closely with operational colleagues within Catch22’s Employability and Skills Hub to identify opportunities to showcase our delivery to local, regional and national policy makers. You will monitor the policy landscape in the employability space, ensuring our policy asks are heard by the right people. Working with the wider communications team and the TikTok Government Affairs team, you’ll curate events – from roundtables to MP visits – and identify potential partner organisations who can help amplify our messages.

Main Duties and Accountabilities

  • Plan and deliver a public affairs plan for the TikTok Creative Academy
  • Deliver a string of policy events to showcase the impact of the programme (e.g. parliamentary drop-in sessions, roundtables, MP visits)
  • Review events to determine what went well, what didn’t and implement improvements for future events.
  • Represent Catch22 at partnership meetings with TikTok, to update on public affairs activity and garner ideas for future events.
  • Work with the TikTok Government Affairs team to maximise public affairs opportunities.
  • Develop a strong knowledge of the Employability policy context and feed learnings from the programme into Catch22’s wider policy work.
  • Work with the Communications and Policy Manager (Employability and Skills) to coordinate social media content relating to the programme, including gathering impactful case studies.
  • Work with the Head of Policy and Media to engage local, regional and national journalists (where appropriate) to positively promote the programme and its impact
  • Draft blogs posts relating to the programme, demonstrating its impact and effectiveness, and contribution to the wider employability landscape.

  • Able to draft materials for media releases relating to the programme.
  • Able to apply the findings of our services to the wider policy context and inform Catch22’s wider campaigning work on Employability.
  • A keen interest in and understanding of the Employability policy landscape.
