Your missions

Description

We are excited to welcome a skilled Medical Coding Specialist to our team! In this fully remote position, you will play a crucial role in managing the initial submission of insurance claims and self-pay postings in accordance with our established procedures. Your expertise will also be instrumental in addressing coding-related denials and handling the resubmission of corrected claims.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately code CPT, ICD-10, modifiers, and HCPC codes based on physician and clinic documentation for both professional and facility billing.
  • Collaborate with the Accounts Receivable and Billing teams to resolve coding-related denials and rejections promptly.
  • Address and resolve denied claims in a timely manner while adhering to coding guidelines and policies.
  • Provide valuable feedback and updates to the Coding Manager regarding billing, coding, charge entry, and denial trends.
  • Prepare end-of-month reports to ensure timely and accurate coding for all services rendered.
  • Maintain your coding certification and stay updated with current coding guidelines and federal regulations.
  • Research and respond to coding-related questions from executive leadership.
  • Assist with various special projects as needed to support our team’s goals.

Education And Experience

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; college education preferred.
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience in a medical practice or office environment.
  • Knowledge of E/M, laboratory, and surgical billing practices.
  • Experience in fertility-related coding is a plus.
  • CPC-A or CPC certification is required.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.
