Description

Are you a skilled legal professional with a passion for real estate? This role involves guiding our business through a range of legal matters, including real estate transactions, rezoning, mergers and acquisitions, and asset protection. You will provide expert advice on procurement contracts, employment law, and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

In addition to overseeing complex agreements and managing outside counsel, you will help shape our legal strategies and ensure adherence to sound business practices and ethical standards. Key Responsibilities

  • Represent the company in rezoning matters and prepare and negotiate land development applications.
  • Identify and analyze legal issues, balancing risks with business needs, and ensure compliance with laws and best practices.
  • Draft and implement processes and procedures, and manage outside counsel to optimize legal costs and service quality.
  • Adapt legal strategies to meet local regulatory and business requirements, collaborating with various business units.
  • Negotiate real estate acquisitions and financing agreements, managing all legal aspects of these transactions.
  • Support construction law matters, including risk management and warranty issues.
  • Oversee litigation and claims, working with business units to resolve disputes and provide necessary legal advice.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5-10 years of experience as a Partner or Jr. Partner in a large firm
  • Experience in litigation is a plus, but not required
  • Juris Doctorate (JD) and licensed in the State of GA
  • 4 years of experience in real estate transactions and 1 year in employment and labor law
  • Strong background in commercial real estate, corporate transactions, and land use
  • Experience with multifamily and/or industrial properties, as well as rezoning
  • Excellent business sense, financial acumen, and ability to manage pressure and deadlines
  • Exceptional people skills, analytical and critical thinking abilities
  • Strong organizational skills, drafting proficiency, and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly assimilate information and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
