Description

We are searching for a dedicated and detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential clerical and billing support to our physician practice, ensuring that all claims are processed accurately and payments are received promptly. Key Responsibilities

  • Medical Coding: Utilize expertise in ICD-10 and CPT coding to ensure compliance with government regulations and billing guidelines.
  • Claims Submission: Accurately and efficiently process charge data, payments, and insurance information, ensuring timely submissions.
  • Billing Guidelines: Stay updated on local, state, and federal regulations to ensure all claims are submitted correctly and comply with relevant financial policies.
  • Denial Management: Resolve claim denials promptly, identify trends, and appeal when necessary to secure payments.
  • Data Entry: Keep patient insurance information up to date with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the revenue cycle team to resolve discrepancies and streamline processes.
  • Reporting: Generate and review daily, weekly, and monthly reports on claims, accounts receivable (AR) follow-up, and denials.
  • Compliance: Ensure HIPAA regulations are followed, maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
  • Process Improvement: Help identify opportunities for improving billing processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
  • Support: Assist the payment posting and collections team with special projects and tasks as needed.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or GED required; an associate degree or certification in medical billing/coding is preferred.
  • Experience: At least 1-2 years of experience in medical billing, payment posting, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with practice management software, electronic health records (EHR), and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word).
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of insurance explanation of benefits (EOBs), electronic remittance advice (ERA), and medical billing procedures.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in data entry and payment posting is crucial.
  • Organizational Skills: Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
  • Problem-Solving: Ability to identify and resolve billing discrepancies and payment issues.
  • Teamwork: Able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and work as part of a team.
