Job Description

Our Payroll Manager is retiring so we are searching for a seasoned Payroll Manager to join us! 

In this pivotal standalone role, you will be responsible for managing the payroll function, ensuring pay is processed on time, accurately, and in compliance with government regulations. 

This role serves as the key point of contact for payroll queries to address and resolve payroll issues promptly, providing expert advice across the business.  

In this part-time opportunity, we are open to either a 3 or 4 day working week, or a 7 day fortnight. 

Reporting to the Head of Finance, APAC and working closely with our People & Culture team, your role will include, but not be limited to: 

  • Manage the end-to-end fortnightly payroll, year-end reconciliations and all related reporting. 
  • Oversee monthly Malaysian payroll for changes and accuracy. 
  • Payroll and leave GL journals for Malaysian payroll. 
  • Maintain payroll system and data integrity. Ensuring the system meets all audit requirements processes, change controls and statutory requirements. 
  • Prepare and analyse payroll reports and metrics, providing insights and recommendations to management. 
  • Collaborate with the People & Culture team to enhance payroll operations. 
  • Maintaining payroll operations by following policies and procedures and liaising with the relevant authorities (where applicable). 
  • Collaboration with the finance team for payroll reporting, annual audits and budgeting queries. 
  • Monthly and year end employee payroll tax calculations and Work Cover calculations. 
  • Assist HR with reporting and legislative requirements such as WGEA. 
  • Supporting and implementing remuneration practices and policies that align with the People & Culture strategy. 
  • Assisting in the implementation of incentive schemes and reporting on outcomes to monitor and ensure effectiveness. 
  • Supporting and facilitating annual review processes, including remuneration, incentives and performance review cycles. 
  • Maintenance of parental leave submissions through PRODA. 

Qualifications

About you: 

  • Proven experience as a Payroll Manager with a minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role 
  • Exceptional stakeholder management and relationship building skills 
  • Strong numerical skills with a proven focus on data accuracy 
  • Customer centric focus but with a questioning mindset 
  • Demonstrated experience in using various Payroll software (ADP preferred) 
  • Strong understanding of Australian payroll laws and regulations. 
  • Self-motivated and proactive - strong problem solver and solutions driven 
  • FBT knowledge desirable 
  • Knowledge of Malaysian payroll desirable 
  • Remuneration experience desirable
