Role Overview

Kuda is seeking a dedicated and experienced Compliance Officer with a background in customer support to join our team in Tanzania. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring our operations comply with all relevant regulatory frameworks while also enhancing the customer experience. This position requires a proactive individual who can manage compliance processes and resolve customer issues effectively.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance (70%)

  • Develop, implement, and maintain compliance policies and procedures in accordance with local banking regulations and international standards.
  • Monitor and assess compliance risks within the organization and develop strategies to mitigate these risks.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure adherence to compliance policies
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies and ensure timely submission of required reports and documentation.

Customer Support (30%)

  • Address and resolve customer inquiries and complaints related to compliance issues efficiently and professionally.
  • Collaborate with the customer support team to ensure compliance-related information is communicated clearly and accurately to customers.
  • Develop training programs for customer support staff to enhance their understanding of compliance requirements.
  • Support other entities and perform additional duties as assigned by the manager.

Qualifications & Skills required

  • Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a compliance role within financial services.
  • Previous experience in customer support or a customer-facing role.
  • Strong understanding of Tanzanian banking regulations and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle complex issues and provide clear, concise solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using compliance management software and customer support tools.
  • Strong English language skills.
  • Empathy and a customer-focused mindset.
  • High level of integrity and ethical standards.
  • Ability to think quickly and make sound decisions under pressure.
