The IT Operations Technician is a hybrid role spanning end-user support, systems administration, and networking. The ideal candidate will have a background in general IT hardware, end-user support, user administration and basic infrastructure support. The IT Operations Technician will work with SME’s to ensure project work is completed on time, identify improvements, and provide general regional and global support.

 

  • Must be a good communicator and be able to work in a high-paced team environment;

  • Responsible for day to day deskside and remote support;

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software applications in a mixed Operating System environment;

 

Responsibilities:

  • Installation maintenance and management of hardware systems including laptops, networking and server systems;

  • Support of video conferencing systems and video event setup;

  • SaaS application support;

  • Active Directory user and group management;

  • Participate in support queues and problem resolution for global users;

  • Systems administration including patch management of servers and endpoints;

  • White Glove support for local executives;

  • Engages in global projects including facilities, application roll outs, and hardware lifecycle projects;

  • Acts as remote hands for regional server and network infrastructure;

  • Maintain Asset Inventory and allocation details;

  • Ensures support SLA’s are achieved;

  

Competencies: 

  • While Flexera promotes work/life balance, the ideal candidate will maintain consistent work hours; 

  • BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field with 5+ years experience; 

  • Excellent technical skills across a variety of technologies including Microsoft 365, servers, operating systems, endpoints and video conferencing ;

  • 4+ years of experience in end-user support, with a proven track record of increasing responsibilities; 

  • Experience with support of a global environment; 

  • Solid problem-solving and analytical skills; 

  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal); 

  • Self-starter who continually develops and broadens their skill set; 

  • Good understanding of industry and technology trends with experience introducing new technology seamlessly into an existing environment with minimum disruption; 

  • Ability to coordinate with remote technical resources to fully utilize the skill set across the entire team;  

  • Work effectively without supervision; 

  • Organization and documentation skills; 

  • Superior customer service skills; 

  • Familiarity with  various hypervisor technologies; 

  • Ability to lift 50 lbs;
