What You’ll Do

As a part-time faculty member, you will:

  • Create and facilitate engaging learning experiences in Welding Technology that align with students’ career goals.
  • Develop assessments that measure students’ knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methods to promote learning in cognitive and kinesthetic domains.
  • Support students in and out of the classroom, guiding them to available campus services.
  • Be flexible in teaching classes at various times and days.

Course Information

  • WELD100 Introduction to Welding (4 credits) - MW 6:15 PM-9:15 PM
  • WELD201 Welding Upgrade (4 credits) - MW 6:15 PM-9:15 PM

Qualifications

Minimum:

  • Five years of journey-level welding experience.
  • Proficiency in all-position welding using SMAW, GMAW, FCAW, and GTAW with carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain American Welding Society (AWS) Welding Inspector certification within six months of hiring.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Washington State Professional Technical Vocational Certificate (requires two years of recent, applicable industry experience).
  • Degree, certificate, or recognized apprenticeship completion in welding.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office.

Preferred

  • Experience teaching or training adult learners, including industry workers or students.
  • Familiarity with AWS and ASME welding code interpretation.
  • AWS Certified Welding Educator (CWE) certification.
  • Current AWS Welding Inspector certification.
  • Experience administering welder certifications.
  • Experience with budget and inventory tracking.
  • A demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds.
