OVERVIEW:

The Regional Field Marketing Manager is responsible for building the DICK’S and House of Sport brands in local communities. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading local marketing efforts in a specific geographical area by managing a team of Field Marketing Managers, whose primary focus is to achieve shared regional business goals by developing programs that ladder up to DICK’S marketing campaigns, while supporting the community through local sponsorships and partnerships.  This role requires a results-driven and strategic manager who can leverage their teams’ deep understanding of local market dynamics and provide excellent leadership skills in creating and executing successful field marketing campaigns. This position also creates and maintains relationships with our corporate Marketing Team as well as all major functional groups within the DKS corporate office and field based Regional Vice Presidents, District Managers and Store Management.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Marketing and People Leader

  • Direct and develop team of Field Marketing Managers and HOS Marketing Specialists, based in strategic markets, to drive traffic and sales, create local relevancy within outbound marketing campaigns and overall affinity for the DICK’S and House of Sport brands.

  • Inspire and motivate team to achieve regional business goals that contribute to company growth.

  • Identify individual strengths and areas of opportunity across team while collaborating with Teammates on development plans for future growth.

  • Aid in the implementation of a culture that fosters proactive engagement, open communication and purpose.

  • Support change management when necessary, leading by example with openness and adaptability to new processes and standardizations.

  • Establish and maintain clear performance objectives for team while conducting quarterly check-ins, annual performance reviews as well as providing ongoing feedback and coaching.

  • Manage the assigned programs, platforms, agencies and vendors that allow the teams to operate daily tasks.

  • Partner with HR on the hiring and oversee the onboarding of new Teammates.

Local Marketing Fundamentals

  • Lead the development and execution of local marketing strategies and tactics that ladder up to our overarching brand campaigns and strategic initiatives to drive awareness and store traffic, and support the achievement of regional sales goals.

  • Leverage team’s deep knowledge of each local market within Region, provide market intelligence to influence strategies that build brand sentiment, drive sales, and increase Customer Lifetime Value.

  • Oversee the monitoring of competitor activities and have team provide synthesized learnings and/or monthly reports, while developing strategies that the FMM can execute to protect and increase market share.

  • Serve as main POC with GO marketing team to develop strategies & messages that will resonate with local Athletes and drive traffic to the new store.

  • Evaluate the effectiveness of local marketing strategies, tactics, and programs and provide feedback to influence the evolution of programs, systems, and processes.

  • Partner with the national marketing team to effectively communicate campaigns, media buys, and initiatives to the store teams.

Partnerships and Sponsorships

  • Lead the cultivation of strong relationships in the community that drive sales and traffic through negotiating sponsorships with sports organizations from youth to collegiate.

  • Find new ways of working with assets such as GameChanger, Sideline Swap, In-Store Services, product assortment and promotions in the local community to enhance the Athlete experience and leverage our competitive advantage.

  • Oversee the building of local partnerships while owning and activating the local relationship for national partners through collaboration with the National Partnerships and Activations team on strategies, tactical plans and post-event analysis for programs like Licensed Hot Market, product launches, appearances, etc.

Donations and Giving

  • Manage tiered giving program for donation requests managed by FMM’s in each Region.

  • Provide input and support for FMM’s to serve as local representatives of the DICK’S Foundation through nominating leagues, teams and organizations in need for Foundation grants and distributing the grant upon approval.

Process Leadership

  • Deliver level of excellence and professionalism on all relationships, events, and programs.

  • Evaluate and manage Field Marketing budget and related expenses.

  • Develop relationships with vendors, sales reps, and service organizations that do business with our company.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Advertising, Business Administration or Communications

  • 7 to 10  years of related experience in a retail or multi-unit marketing environment.

  • Possess a valid driver’s license

  • Successfully pass comprehensive criminal background and motor vehicle checks

Targeted Pay Range: $95,200 - $158,800. This is part of a competitive total rewards package that could include other components such as: incentive, equity and benefits. Individual pay is determined by a number of factors including experience, location, internal pay equity, and other relevant business considerations.
