As we expand, we’re seeking a Product Marketing Manager to join our marketing team.

We are searching for a results-driven marketer who can craft and execute customer-centric marketing strategies that drive product adoption and engagement. You have a deep understanding of customer pain points and needs, and you excel at communicating complex products in a compelling and impactful way. 

The ideal candidate is a self-motivated problem solver with a high sense of ownership. They are a strategic thinker who creates marketing plans grounded in data, with strong communication and collaboration skills. They are energized by working cross-functionally and are committed to bringing projects to completion within the projected time frame.

Location:

This position offers remote work from the comfort of your home, with occasional in-office requirements at our office located on the 800 block of Powell Street, Vancouver, BC. Candidates in the greater Vancouver area will be given first consideration, followed by those in other parts of British Columbia, and then across Canada. As the role evolves, some travel may also be required.

Responsibilities: 

In this role, you will lead product launches and develop and execute go-to-market (GTM) strategies. You will take charge of positioning, messaging, sales and marketing enablement, as well as managing customer and lifecycle marketing initiatives.

  • Messaging & Positioning: Develop clear and compelling value propositions and customer benefits that differentiate Spexi in the market. Ensure product features are communicated effectively to the target audience.

  • Customer Insights: Serve as the internal subject matter expert on our customers by continuously gathering feedback, conducting customer interviews, and analyzing data to uncover key insights that inform marketing strategies.

  • Competitor Insights: Conduct ongoing analysis of competitors to identify strengths, weaknesses, and opportunities, and use this information to sharpen Spexi’s market positioning.

  • Sales Enablement: Create high-impact sales collateral, presentations, and tools that equip the sales team to effectively communicate the value of Spexi’s solutions to potential customers.

  • Campaign Management: Lead the development and execution of targeted marketing campaigns aimed at acquiring and engaging customers. Track campaign performance and make data-driven adjustments to improve results.

  • Reporting & KPIs: Monitor, track, and report on marketing performance metrics and key KPIs, providing regular updates on progress and areas for improvement.

  • Team & Vendor Management: Manage relationships with freelancers, agencies, and external vendors. As the product marketing team grows, you will also take on the management of direct reports to ensure seamless collaboration and execution of marketing initiatives.  

Qualifications:

  • Product Marketing Expertise: 2 to 4 years of proven experience in product marketing, with a strong foundation in broader marketing principles.

  • Exceptional Storytelling & Communication: You are a skilled storyteller with excellent writing abilities. You’ve successfully crafted case studies, sales collateral, and compelling messaging that inspires action.

  • Data-Driven Approach: You leverage analytics and research to inform and shape your marketing strategies, ensuring they are grounded in measurable insights.

  • Research & Insights Mastery: Extensive experience designing surveys and conducting research interviews to extract valuable customer and industry insights that inform strategy.

  • Strategic Thinker: You excel at connecting the dots between customer needs, product capabilities, and market opportunities to craft marketing strategies that align with business objectives.

  • Action-Oriented: You have a strong bias for action, driving projects and campaigns from conception to successful completion.

  • Collaborative Team Player: You have a track record of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including sales, product, and other marketing specialists.

  • Resourceful & Accountable: You are self-motivated, resourceful, and take full ownership of your projects, ensuring successful execution from start to finish.

  • Team & Vendor Management: Proven experience managing internal teams, freelancers, external agencies, and vendors.

Bonus:

  • Geospatial or Drone Technology Experience: Familiarity with geospatial technology, drone operations, or related industries is a strong asset.

  • Technical Product Knowledge: Ability to quickly grasp and market technically complex products or solutions, especially within software or hardware environments.

  • Digital Marketing Expertise: Experience with digital marketing platforms, SEO/SEM, social media strategies, and performance marketing campaigns.

  • SaaS Marketing Experience: Experience marketing SaaS products or subscription-based services.

  • Public Speaking & Presentations: Strong presentation skills, with experience speaking at industry conferences, webinars, or events to represent products and brands.

  • Multilingual: Proficiency in additional languages is a plus, particularly if targeting global markets.

  • CRM & Marketing Automation Tools: Experience with platforms like HubSpot, Marketo, Salesforce, or similar tools to manage and track marketing campaigns.

  • Growth Marketing Techniques: Knowledge of growth marketing strategies, including A/B testing, funnel optimization, and customer retention tactics.
