Your missions

The role

Working within our Naval Combat Systems division the Configuration Analyst will ensure that configuration and data management (CDM) activities are undertaken in accordance with the CDM Plan. This will involve engineering baseline identification and management within the CM toolset, support for configuration and review boards, and support for CM audits and DM.

Further, the successful candidate will perform:

Configuration Management:

  • Prepare agendas and minutes for Configuration Control and Review Boards
  • Progress change items through the review and Configuration Management process and prepare change authorisation documentation for presentation at review boards
  • Support the analysis of proposed changes to assess up and downstream effect on overall system
  • Work with engineering and drafters to ensure models, drawings and parts are configured and structured within the CM tool
  • Establish and maintain baselines and material for major project review and milestone activities 
  • Maintain configuration item status and deliver Configuration Status Accounting Reports as required

Data Management support:

  • Apply the processes and procedures for the identification, control and distribution of project data within the Data Management System
  • Liaise with data owners/authors to ensure project documentation (e.g. program plans and engineering artefacts) are prepared according to schedule and contract requirements
  • Coordinate reviews of documentation to ensure customer contract and company requirements are met
  • Manage CDRL deliveries to the customer in accordance with established methods, assure customer receipt, and manage customer comment resolution with appropriate authors
  • Manage SDRL deliveries from subcontractors and support the Technical Information Review process 
  • Support the coordination and evaluation of GFM deliveries, from the CoA, for quality and content
  • Work closely with the Export Compliance Coordinator to ensure compliance with the Project Export / Import (EXIM) Compliance Plan and Sensitive Information procedures
  • Maintain technical documentation records in accordance with the Configuration Management and Technical Data Plans.

Flexible work arrangements such as hybrid work from home / office, 9 day fortnight and part time (0.8 FTE minimum) will be considered for this role.

Your skills and experience will include:

  • Implementing configuration and data management processes in development projects (essential)
  • CM tools such as Windchill (essential)
  • Collaborating across engineering disciplines and organisations (essential)
  • Handling and managing export controlled data (desirable)
  • Managing secure/sensitive data (desirable)
  • Document Editing/Publishing Tools (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and Requirements Management processes and tools (SysML, Cameo, DOORS) (desirable)
  • Jira and Confluence or other workgroup collaboration tools (desirable)
  • Working within a defence environment (desirable)

Applicants must be Australian citizens and have the ability to obtain and retain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1 level.
