Your missions

OVERVIEW
Tech Brew is a newsletter-based publication that keeps over 400,000 professionals informed about the intersection of business and technology. Tech Brew has four core coverage areas: AI, transportation, green tech, and connectivity.

At Tech Brew, we tell the story of how companies are investing in, using, and creating technologies to move their businesses forward, while also understanding how companies innovate to stay ahead—of business goals, but also competition. We cover the what, how, and why of everything from the implementation of ambitious AI projects to how companies are approaching the electric transition.

We’re looking for a reporter to take this mission and run with it. That means pushing major companies for details on their tech strategies, profiling the most important people at the intersection of business and tech, and generally showing our audience of business professionals how high-stakes decisions about new technology get made—and what their consequences are.

Morning Brew is based in New York City, but this role is remote-friendly for all US-based candidates.

HERE'S WHAT YOU'LL BE WORKING ON
- Pitch, report, and write stories for Tech Brew's website and newsletter.
- Generate ideas for and create non-newsletter editorial initiatives, enterprise pieces, and evergreen content for Tech Brew's digital home.
- Conduct research to support creation of key stories and inform longer-term projects.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 3+ years of journalism experience, ideally covering tech and business
- Interest and expertise in business writing and reporting
- Ability to write in the Morning Brew style (engaging, informative, clever)
- Understanding of how to analyze and draw conclusions from structured and unstructured data
- Understanding of how to leverage multiple platforms (email, social media, etc.) to engage with the target audience
- Self-starter attitude with ability to operate in a collaborative, quickly changing environment
- Combination of attention to detail and creative, strategic thinking
- Excellent communication skills with a mindset for collaboration
- Ability to operate in a high-pressure environment with tight deadlines
