Job description

Founded in 2001, Resident Advisor (RA) is one of the world's longest-running music media brands and a cornerstone of the dance, electronic and DJ ecosystem. The site's audience of over 6 million monthly users is drawn in by a combination of news, editorial, club listings and ticketing, RA-branded events at venues and festivals worldwide, original films and a weekly mix series that has run for 18 years. 

Purpose of the role
The City Manager is an integral part of RA’s Global Content Network (GCN). The City Manager's primary focus is to support the local electronic music scene in Munich through local content and editorial. The focus of the role is representing RA in Munich and helping to grow our audience via communicating RA’s offerings to local promoters, clubs and artists, as well as acting as a link between RA, the GCN and the local electronic music community in Munich. The City Manager helps users and readers discover the best events and music Munich has to offer.

The City Manager Plus will support RA’s development in Munich by building relationships within the scene and onboarding promoters, labels and artists to RA Pro. The role will act as a link between RA’s Partnerships Team and local promoters and users in Munich and is responsible for sharing ideas and feedback with the wider company. The City Manager Plus will directly support RA’s revenue goals in Munich.

Key responsibilities City Manager

  • Adding local content to RA’s website (events, artists, labels, promoters)
  • Communicating frequently and effectively with your manager and other RA staff
  • Maintaining the club database: updating it with pics, logos, addresses & links 
  • Pitching interesting local news, features, artists, labels, releases and mixes for editorial consideration
  • Selecting and writing RA Picks 
  • Onboarding local promoters, venues and artists to RA Pro
  • Assisting the revenue team with developing ticketing and advertising relationships
  • Having conversations with promoters, explaining RA’s offerings and features  
  • Pitching local community events and executing them with the help of RA full-time staff
  • We primarily communicate in English, but fluency in German is a requirement for this specific role
  • Assisting with website translations in your local language

Key responsibilities City Manager Plus

  • Acting as a link between the GCN, the local scene and the Revenue Team
  • Using your network to build relationships with grassroots promoters, festivals, and venues
  • Helping with outreach and encouraging promoters to connect with the Revenue Team
  • Helping to roll out new revenue tools like RA+ or others to support growth in your region

This is a freelance role (5-10 hours a week) preferably spread out across the week. Being based in Munich is a requirement for this role. Please upload an English CV and Cover Letter.

This is a freelance role and the expected monthly rate is 390€.
