The IT Operations Engineer (Monitoring) will manage and execute L2/L3 operations on the Centreon monitoring platform to ensure seamless performance across datacenter, server, network, and cloud infrastructures. This role involves developing and maintaining monitoring scripts, supporting local and regional IT teams, and ensuring consistent service delivery in alignment with established IT standards. You will work within a worldwide scope, traveling to various sites, collaborating with different business groups, and delivering high-quality service as per SLA and KPIs. 

Key Responsibilities: 

Monitoring Operations Management: 

• Oversee L2/L3 operations for datacenter and server infrastructure monitoring. 

• Manage, deploy, and upgrade virtual servers and containers for the Centreon monitoring tool. 

• Ensure seamless monitoring of private and public cloud services, supporting connectivity and performance. 

• Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans for monitoring services. 

• Ensure adherence to IT standards, policies, and best practices at the group level. 

Development & Scripting: 

• Develop and maintain monitoring scripts using Python and Perl to extend Centreon functionality. 

• Integrate external monitoring tools into the Centreon platform, utilizing external SDKs. 

• Foster continuous improvement within the monitoring team.

Collaboration & Stakeholder Management: 

• Provide comprehensive documentation to local IT teams to limit the need for Level 2 support interventions. 

• Collaborate with regional IT teams to support datacenter, network, server, and cloud monitoring. 

• Assist in troubleshooting and resolving complex issues. 

• Coordinate with the Techpole to ensure adherence to group standards. 

Performance Management & Reporting: 

• Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) for datacenter and server operations. 

• Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met and take corrective actions when necessary. 

• Provide detailed performance reports to the IT Operations Manager, highlighting opportunities for improvement. 

Qualifications & Experience: 

• University degree in IT or Engineering with a specialization in IT, or equivalent through experience. 

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT infrastructure monitoring (datacenter, network, server, cloud). 

• Experience with Git version control systems for managing source code of monitoring software extensions. 

• Strong proficiency in Red Hat Enterprise Linux, Python, and Perl scripting. 

• Experience in managing physical and virtual servers, OS-level virtualization (e.g., Podman), and antivirus solutions. 

• Knowledge of cybersecurity practices and compliance requirements. 

Technical Skills: 

• Hands-on experience with Centreon monitoring platform. 

• Expertise in server, network, and cloud infrastructure monitoring. 

• Familiarity with containerization tools and cloud service management. 

• Strong skills in Python and Perl for monitoring software development.
