The Opportunity

Campus Ink seeks a Licensing Manager to lead the overall strategy, management and operations of Campus Ink’s trademark licensing program.

The Licensing Manager is responsible for creating and growing licensing and merchandising programs and partnerships that maximize revenue and brand opportunities.

This includes directly managing the major functions of our licensing program to grow our license portfolio, including the use of Campus Ink’s names, trademarks, logos, images, identifiers and those for Campus Ink organizations, departments, events, etc.

The Licensing Manager will work closely with marketing and creative partners across Campus Ink. They will work closely with teams focused on collegiate licenses within NIL, Greek, B2B, and our Student Designer Program to develop robust practices and policies that strengthen brand equity and grow licensing opportunities and revenues.

Core Responsibilities

  • Manage licensor, retail, and community relationships to submit and manage our licensing operations that align with Campus Ink and license partner brand guidelines, protect and use Campus Ink and partner marks and develop relationships to grow reach and revenue.
  • Ensure that all products, services and/or programs that bear licensor name, trademarks and other identifiers are of high quality and are used only in connection with products, services and programs with which the licensor has chosen to be identified.
  • Implement licensing programs and innovative retail strategies to increase licensing opportunities and support an overall commitment to grow brand affinity.
  • Ensure that the licensing program is continually exhibiting best or emerging practices in licensing strategy and methodology, following the retail market for evolving trends for product categories or new distribution opportunities.
  • Manage the quarterly and monthly licensing sales and royalty report submission processes for all Greek and Collegiate licenses held.
  • Provide leadership around institutional trademark policy and other licensing regulations.
  • Work in close coordination with leadership on all trademark-related legal matters.
  • Advise, educate, and respond to requests from units and groups, related organizations and students regarding licensing issues and trademark matters, ensuring that Licensing presents an image that aligns with the Campus Ink brand.
  • Ensure that Campus Ink is in full compliance with the licensor policies and the terms of their licenses.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of trademark-related practices and demonstrated history of performing related duties in a high-profile setting.
  • Strong analytical capabilities, initiative, and ability to collaborate with others.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills as well as planning and organizational skills.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, and/or related field.
  • Minimum five years of related professional experience.
  • Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at Campus Ink.
  • Experience managing and developing operating budgets.
  • Strong background in NCAA Division I collegiate licensing or consumer products retail experience preferred.
  • Prior experience with trademark licensing, including evaluating licensing requests and familiarity with trademark enforcement procedures (including online removal processes), is preferred.
