The Staff Revenue Accountant will play a crucial role in managing the daily and monthly operations of revenue accounting and reporting in compliance with U.S. GAAP and corporate policies. This role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure accurate revenue recognition and implementing process improvements within our billing and revenue systems. The ideal candidate will have experience in public accounting or SaaS accounting and be passionate about technical accounting and process optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review sales contracts to ensure revenue recognition complies with ASC 606 and company policies; escalate significant or non-standard deals to the Technical Accounting team as needed.
  • Ensure accurate transfer of sales data from Salesforce CPQ to Sage Intacct for timely revenue recognition and client invoicing.
  • Partner with Service Operations to verify accuracy in time tracking and billing rates; manage data migration into Intacct for precise revenue recognition.
  • Address inquiries from Sales, Sales Operations, and Accounts Receivable teams regarding revenue recognition, client terms, and invoicing.
  • Update support revenue start dates to align with service implementation for correct revenue recognition.
  • Perform month-end close activities, including revenue, deferred revenue, and unbilled revenue reconciliations.
  • Assist in revenue analysis, forecasting, and process improvement initiatives for the Order to Cash process.
  • Collaborate in preparing documentation for accounting standard adoptions and policy updates.
  • Support external financial audits by preparing schedules, providing timely responses, and maintaining documentation.
  • Stay updated on authoritative accounting guidance related to ASC 606 revenue recognition.
  • Engage in ad-hoc projects as assigned by the Technical Accounting Team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • 1+ years of accounting experience, with a preference for candidates from SaaS companies or public accounting firms.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and experience with complex accounting matters.
  • Pursuit of or possession of a CPA license is a plus.
  • Experience with Salesforce CPQ and/or Sage Intacct is advantageous.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams.
