About the Job:

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Head of Content Marketing to lead the content strategy at Thriveworks. This is a Director-level role where you will be responsible for shaping and executing a content vision that drives brand awareness, client engagement, and thought leadership within the mental health industry. You will oversee all content initiatives across multiple platforms and formats to ensure client acquisition, retention, and community growth. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned content marketer with a proven track record in developing compelling and effective content strategies, particularly in the healthcare or wellness sectors.

This is an opportunity to build out a content strategy from the ground up! 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and execution of a comprehensive content marketing strategy that aligns with business goals and enhances the Thriveworks brand. Work includes enhancing or designing content brief, coordinating/assignment of content request, editing/proofreading/fact-checking, and final QA of post-production implementation

  • Oversee content creation across all platforms, including blog posts, articles, case studies, email campaigns, social media, video, and more.

  • Collaborate with internal teams (including Product, Marketing, and Clinical teams) to ensure content is aligned with business objectives and resonates with key audiences.

  • Build and manage a high-performing content team, including writers, editors, designers, and freelancers.

  • Optimize content for SEO to ensure high rankings and organic visibility.

  • Develop and maintain a content calendar to support product launches, campaigns, and ongoing engagement efforts.

  • Establish content KPIs, analyze performance, and report on the effectiveness of content strategies to senior leadership.

  • Stay ahead of industry trends and make data-driven recommendations to improve content strategies.

  • Manage the content marketing budget, ensuring efficient and effective use of resources.

Skills/Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in content marketing leadership roles, preferably in the healthcare or wellness sectors.

  • Exceptional writing and editing skills with a strong ability to craft compelling narratives that connect with diverse audiences.

  • Deep knowledge of SEO best practices and experience optimizing content for search engines.

  • Expertise in link-building strategies and developing content that drives authoritative backlinks.  

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and teams in a fast-paced environment.

  • Experience using content management systems (CMS) and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, SEMrush, or similar platforms.

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with teams across the organization.

  • Creative thinker with the ability to innovate and adapt content strategies to meet the evolving needs of the market.

  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills to develop and guide a high-performing team.

  • Knows how to articulate value of initiatives in content. 

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of experience in content marketing, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.

  • Experience managing content teams (freelance and FTE) and overseeing large-scale content initiatives.

  • Demonstrated expertise in SEO, content strategy, and data analysis.

  • Experience in the mental health, healthcare, or wellness industries is a plus.
