Special Education Teacher provide instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students’ individual needs as defined by each student’s IEP. The special education teacher is also responsible for the compliance documents required in serving students with special needs.
Essential Functions: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
- Instruction and Support: Provide tailored instruction and support to students, ensuring their individual needs are met as defined by their Individualized Education Program (IEP).
- IEP Management: Develop, implement, and manage IEPs for students with a variety of disabilities, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.
- Case Management: Oversee and coordinate the special education services for assigned students, maintaining accurate and up-to-date records.
- Program Development: Contribute to the structure and resources of the special education program to maximize the educational experience for both students and learning coaches.
- Relationship Building: Establish and maintain strong relationships with families, students, and learning coaches to support student progress and success.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, administrators, and other staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no formal supervisory responsibilities.
Minimum Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree(s) AND
- Minimum three (3) years teaching experience AND
- Teachers with one or more years of teaching experience are required to provide past performance data.

- Reference Letter(s)
OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Strong written/verbal communication skills
- Ability to travel at least once per month 10% in State within and between assigned geographic areas to support students, attend regularly scheduled meetings, and participate in school activities, open houses and orientations.
- Experience working with the proposed age group
- Experience supporting adults and children in the use of technology
- An ability to learn new technology tools quickly (e.g., database and web-based tools)
- Ability to clear required background check(s)
DESIRED Qualifications:
- Experience working with the proposed age group
- Experience working in a virtual environment.
- Ability to quickly learn new technologies and tools
- Experience teaching online (virtual) and/or in a brick-and-mortar environment
- Familiar with Blackboard Collaborative or other online platforms
- Valid State of Colorado Generalist in Special Education license.
- Experience with IEP development and implementation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong technology skills

- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Compensation & Benefits: Stride, Inc. considers a person’s education, experience, and qualifications, as well as the position’s work location, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value when determining a new employee’s salary level. Salaries will differ based on these factors, the position’s level and expected contribution, and the employee’s benefits elections. Offers will typically be in the bottom half of the range.
Exempt (salary): Post annual salary
We anticipate the salary range to be $ 53,315.20 - 66,644.00. Eligible employees may receive a bonus. This salary is not guaranteed, as an individual’s compensation can vary based on several factors. These factors include, but are not limited to, geographic location, experience, training, education, and local market conditions.
