Hiring an Associate Director, Sustainability Marketing & Capability Building

Sustainability Marketing

  • Develop commercial and marketing content specifically for sustainability deliverables on a site, regional, product and divisional level
  • Act as a sustainability focal point towards CHI Commercial and Marketing functions (Sales, Business Development, Marketing…)
  • Work closely with CHI center of applied sustainability to translate elements of Lonza CHI’s sustainability strategic roadmap into clear commercial value propositions
  • Customer engagement: work closely with sales, supply chain and product management to develop communication on our sustainability efforts to customers and foster partnerships
  • Support the understanding customers' sustainability needs and translating into product requirements and value propositions
  • Lead & facilitate customer workshops or audits on sustainability, in full alignment with associated commercial colleagues and the CHI center of applied sustainability
  • Key opinion leadership: Stay ahead of pharma and Health & Nutrition market & technology trends in sustainability by conducting research, participating in conferences and preparing reports
  • Respond to sustainability requests from the market & customers, in close collaboration with the CHI center of applied sustainability
  • Contribute to commercial (business case) and technical (feasibility) assessments to drive measures for life cycle initiatives (e.g., emission reduction, water consumption etc.) across CHI

Capability building

  • Develop & implement training and engagement strategy in close collaboration with CHI Internal communication and HR departments
  • Develop & implement training content & rollout roadmap (launch, delivery, scale, impact) to enhance organizational climate literacy
  • Grow and expand competencies and skills about sustainability topics of CHI employees globally and at country level

  • Foster CHI stakeholder engagement to drive actions on sustainability
  • Advocacy: champion sustainability internally and externally, raising awareness among employees, customers, advocacy groups and industry stakeholders

Business Stakeholder Management:

  • Own the interface to CHI Commercial and Marketing teams on sustainability topics.
  • Drive proactively communications and support decision making.

Processes, tools and Systems:

  • Ensure compliance with Lonza standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support roll-out of Lonza procedures, policies and guidelines.
  • Support CHI initiatives, roll-out of CHI tools, processes and systems.


Personal development and capability building:

  • Define personal development goals & needs and potential associated training.
  • Complete mandatory training and capability building program.

Perform other duties as assigned.
