The Product Safety Engineer position is a part of the Central Engineering team remotely supporting Product Safety across all of Collins Aerospace. This position would be a part of a great team supporting SMS Process Excellence within North America and supporting our businesses Internationally.
This individual will work 100% remote
What You Will Do:
- Communicate effectively and professionally with personnel supporting Product Safety Issues, incidents and accidents Internationally
- Support and ultimately individually conduct risk analyses for individual Product Safety Issues (PSI) using statistical tools such as the FAA Continued Airworthiness Assessment Methodologies, comparable EASA or other regulatory analyses and Military Product Safety Risk Analyses.
- Digest large amounts of data quickly while dealing with ambiguity
- Extensive internal interface with various SBU support organizations within the organization
- Continue to develop and participate in efficient process improvements using CORE Principles
What You Will Learn:
- Detailed understanding of Commercial and Military Platforms (e.g. Aircraft) architectures, capabilities, system performance, specific Collins product operations, safety features and redundancies.
- Safety analyses methodologies, predictions and approaches used by Regulators, Industry and our customers
Qualifications You Must Have:
- Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract
Qualifications We Prefer:
- Statistically methods and approaches applied to Airworthiness Methodologies
- Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Math/Physics focus

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home). An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed. (*Position is remote; however, if you live within a reasonable commute of a Collins site with other colleagues you interact with, your manager will discuss whether there is a degree of onsite presence associated with this role.)
This position is not eligible for relocation.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
