We are seeking a dedicated People Operations Specialist to join our team. This role plays a crucial part in supporting our employees and fostering a positive work environment within South Africa. The People Specialist will be responsible for taking care of the onboarding and offboarding processes, administration, implementing global policies and practices according to the local market and acting as a point of contact for the employees in South Africa.

In addition to the local activities, the person in this role will collaborate and work closely with our International People Operations team.

Primary responsibilities:

- Taking care of employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, offboarding, employee engagement projects,  documentation and communication with employees and introducing; talent retention ideas and policies in line  with company processes;
- Identifying and assessing the HR needs of the business, and developing and implementing strategies to meet those needs;  
- Managing and sharing employee reports with the team and stakeholders on a regular basis;  
- Supporting Hiring managers as per business requirements;  
- Acting as a point of contact and support for employees on HR-related matters such as policies, benefits, and  grievances;  
- You will be responsible for identifying opportunities to improve processes, procedures, and systems driving  efficiency, and effectiveness across the department;  
- Managing employee relations and ensuring a positive work environment for all employees;  Creating a strong employer brand image for the organisation.  

Secondary Responsibilities:

- Liaise with the International People Operations team.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
- Actively participate in weekly updates with the team to review team performance and issues.

Requirements:

- Degree in Human Resources or Industrial Psychology; 
- At least 3-5 years of experience in a  People Operations role with a strong Human Resources background;
- Strong knowledge of South African labour laws & regulations;
- Should be able to work independently and take end-to-end accountability for employee lifecycle;  
- Effective stakeholder management, relationship-building, and consulting expertise;  
- Excellent in written and spoken English;  
- Strong data management and presentation skills;  Strong understanding of market intelligence;
- Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines;  
- Ability to positively collaborate in an international remote work environment.
