Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

As a leader in the Credit Lifecycle organization, the VP, Regulatory Response Project Manager will be responsible for supporting key Credit governance routines such as interactions with regulatory agencies (the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB), the Office of Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB)) and ongoing engagement with Synchrony control functions (including Compliance, Operational Risk, and Internal Audit). 

 

This position will be accountable for establishing a standard and repeatable framework to drive timely and accurate execution and remediation of regulatory exam findings and issues. The successful candidate for this role is a leader with effective verbal and written communication skills, the ability to manage through influence, and prior experience managing cross-functional governance and/or regulatory initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare, and coordinate requirements and deliverables to support execution and remediation of regulatory exam findings and issues aligned to Credit. 

  • Partner internally and cross-functionally to coordinate the collection and refinement of materials required to address regulatory exam findings and issues. 

  • Develop, implement, and facilitate a reporting cadence to applicable stakeholders and Senior Leaders on the status of regulatory commitments against completion timelines, including escalation where needed. 

  • Facilitate ongoing stakeholder meetings to drive collaboration and prioritization of regulatory deliverables to ensure their timely and successful completion. 

  • Support future regulatory engagements, including exams, survey and/or data requests, quarterly meetings, and adhoc requests as applicable.  

  • Serve as a functional point of contact/coordinator for Supervisory Affairs and internal governance teams for all regulatory inquiries and engagements. 

  • Drive awareness of regulatory activity and preparation across the function and cross-functionally as applicable. 

  • Perform other governance duties and/or special projects as assigned. 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 8+ years of Project Management experience supporting cross-functional initiatives with a governance and/or regulatory focus.

  • 5+ years’ experience in Credit, Risk, Fraud, Model Risk Management, Governance, or related areas.

  • 3+ years' experience in a cross-functional or matrixed environment.

  • Experience with regulatory interactions including direct communication with regulators.

  • Direct experience presenting to and communicating at various levels of management in a regulated environment.

  • Track record of successfully collaborating, partnering, and influencing large stakeholder groups across all levels.

Grade/Level: 13

                                                                      

The salary range for this position is 130,000.00 - 210,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
