Who you are:

As a Software Engineer III at Frost, you are our code guru, not only writing code but understanding the "why" behind it. Our software engineers believe in collaboration, ingenuity, and truly want to drive design and change in the IT realm. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, writing, testing, implementing, supporting, and documenting solutions for assigned programs and applications across the organization. You welcome a challenge and want to provide next level experiences to every individual that uses our systems.

Job Location: Frost Bank, San Antonio, Texas. Telecommuting (work from home) permitted within metropolitan statistical area.

Job Duties:   

  • Architect and design new features in the existing application per requirements [30% of time dedicated to this job duty].
  • Maintain and develop online banking application and associated Application Program Interfaces (APIs) [20%].
  • Develop web services per business requirement [10%].
  • Perform code review meetings with peers and end-users on regular basis [5%].
  • Perform unit testing and system integration testing [10%].
  • Coordinate with functional teams and provide support to all internal and external interfaces such as RSA and Yodlee services [10%].
  • Develop, schedule, and monitor batch jobs [5%].
  • Evaluate and coordinate with external vendors products to keep the system up to date [10%].
  • In connection with above duties, utilize experience in developing applications using Java, J2EE, JAX-WS, JAX-RS, Hibernate, Junit, TestNG, GIT, Maven, HTML5, CSS3, Angular JS, Mocha, and Karma; financial domain knowledge; analyzing, developing, creating, and implementing complex applications according to business requirements; designing and providing objective advice, expertise, and specialist support skills with the aim of creating value and maximizing growth or improving the business performance of clients; reviewing and modifying software programs to ensure technical accuracy and reliability of programs; utilizing Java, J2EE, Angular, Python, Perl, Bootstrap, TestNG, Selenium, NodeJS, Karma, Mocha, Chai, Mockito, Postgres, Jenkins, CSS, Swagger, Splunk, and JIRA; participating in company proprietary software design and implementation to improve user software applications; developing API components using JAVA and J2EE for company proprietary software; using AngularJS, JQuery, JavaScript, CSS3, HTML5, and JSP to create/enhance the functionality of web pages; implementing Test Driven Development in existing/new functionalities using TestNG, Mocha, and Karma; utilizing Hibernate for database access and creating SQL Map configuration for mapping Java Entity objects to database queries; developing SAML Authentication to interact with external vendor services like Yodlee; and providing trouble shooting and debugging support to the software applications developed.

Requirements:

DEGREE: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, Electronic Engineering, or related field.
