Zayo is seeking a Head of Executive Compensation, P&C Business Operations & Strategy. This key role reports to the Chief People & Culture Officer (CPCO) and has dual responsibility as Business Manager for the People and Culture (P&C) team as well as the Executive and Incentive Compensation Program ownership for Zayo.
As the Head of Executive Compensation, P&C Business Operations & Strategy, this individual will act as a trusted advisor to anticipate, design, lead, operationalize, and execute on strategic initiatives across the function as well as lead and support the continuous improvement of functional operations. The Head of Executive Compensation, P&C Business Operations & Strategy sits at the intersection of Zayo’s P&C vision and execution, utilizing a strategic mindset with the ability to synthesize data for decision making, actively execute on initiatives, and partner with other leaders, enabling the best outcomes for our largest strategic initiatives.
The Head of Executive Compensation, P&C Business Operations & Strategy role will spearhead the development and implementation of forward-thinking strategies aimed at attracting, engaging, and retaining top talent at Zayo Group in a rapidly evolving market landscape. In this role, the ideal candidate will leverage their expertise to oversee a range of areas including the executive compensation framework and career paths, management of the long-term incentive / profit interests plan, responsibility for the annual incentive program (AIP) and individual executive compensation offers. The role ensures these strategies and programs are aligned with Zayo’s strategic goals and organizational culture while also complying with legal and regulatory standards.
Collaborating closely with internal stakeholders, the C-suite, investors and Board of Directors, the Head of Executive and Incentive Compensation is also responsible for the preparation of quarterly Board materials and interim correspondence.
*We're open to this role working remotely within the United States, with preference for candidates able to work in a hybrid capacity within the Denver Metro, CO area.
Responsibilities:
Executive and Incentive Compensation
Design, manage, and operationalize executive compensation programs, policies, and procedures for the organization.
Ensure executive compensation packages are competitive, equitable, and aligned with the company's strategic goals and interests.
Conduct competitive benchmarking peer company programs and market analysis, evaluating changes to existing plans, and preparing compensation analyses to ensure alignment with industry standards.
Prepare detailed compensation analyses and present findings to senior leadership.
Prepare materials for the Compensation Committee, and present findings to senior leadership. This may include managing agendas, leading the strategy of the annual proxy, and drafting remuneration reports.
Proactively communicate and educate executive compensation philosophy and programs to internal and external stakeholders.
Partner with FP&A and legal on plan designs, budgets and approvals. Ensure comprehensive and compliant compensation plans.
Stay up to date on market trends, regulatory changes, and best practices. This may include liaising with consultants, analyzing public filings, and researching corporate governance trends.
Collaborate with HRBPs (business partners), recruiters, managers, and business leaders on compensation matters in parts of the organization.
Business Office / M&A
Trusted advisor to CHRO, P&C to help anticipate, lead, operationalize, and execute P&C’s most strategic initiatives .
Lead cross-functional partnerships with other leaders and groups within Zayo, with particular focus on Executive Compensation.
In close collaboration with other leaders, establish and monitor key goals, OKRs and KPIs to track the efficiency and effectiveness of the P&C business unit. Deliver data driven dashboards and reporting that can be used by the product, engineering, delivery, and assurance functions to improve decision making.
Drive accountability across teams by ensuring that appropriate cadence, milestones, and relevant measurements are established.
Run and manage all business rhythm meetings such as Monthly Operating Reviews, Quarterly Business Reviews with external Board or investors, internal Monthly Business Reviews, All Hands, employee skip level or other internal communications related items.
Lead and own budget management and financial reporting. Own and direct all budget performance, tracking and escalations for total spend across business unit. Partner with our Finance and FP&A teams on management of financial performance and production of reports.
Leads & executes due diligence and actions for assigned M&A workstreams.
Direct and create all processes and presentations for key operational meetings internally and Board or Committee meetings.
Compose documents and presentations for the CPCO for executive and Board meetings.
Triaging escalations that come to the CPCO and alert SVP and/or other executives only when problems necessitate senior leader intervention or decisions, and ranking problems as they arise.
Partner with internal and external communications teams to supporting executive and organizational-level communications.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Finance or a related discipline or prior work experience in one or more of these disciplines; MBA a plus.
Minimum of ten (10) years of proven experience leading large-scale, cross-organizational, complex enterprise programs or projects utilizing internal and vendor resources.
Financial modeling, forecasting and analytical skills: ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions (in partnership with FP&A and business leaders).
Exceptional verbal, written, and presentation skills including presentation design and implementation, presenting and communicating to large groups across all levels of the organization in an effective, situationally appropriate, clear, and high-quality manner.
Capable of both strong leadership as well as individual contribution and influence across non-direct reporting teams.
Experience in defining and executing large strategic initiatives while also ensuring day-to-day business activities continue to run smoothly.
Experience effectively interacting with executives and senior leaders.
Experience with building effective business processes and communication strategies for diverse teams.
Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders throughout the organization.
Ability to maintain good judgment in fast-paced environments.
Ability to excel in an ambiguous environment, orchestrating strategic and complex business activity.
Ability to jump from detailed financial analysis to high level strategic discussion to tactical execution to process improvement.
Strong project management capabilities with planning and setting timelines up to meet operational deadlines.

Base Salary Range: $180,000 - $210,000 USD/annually, commensurate with experience.
