Marmon Foodservice Technologies is looking for a Director of Automation & Production Maintenance. The Director of Automation will work closely with Operations management to establish priorities, resolve technical problems, and maintain standardized documentation. Develop detailed project plans and execute projects on time, in scope and budget that support operations goals and improve operational capability.

What You’ll Do

  • As part of the Operations Management team, a strong commitment to a teamwork philosophy

  • 7+ years of Automation/related field experience

  • Manages N. America Automation Team

  • Possess the ability to communicate technical information to non-technical personnel

  • A professional attitude and demeanor, both in front of customers and at the factory

  • Investigate problems as they arise and make recommendations and/or assist in implementation

  • Participates actively in the quality process including project team involvement, problem solving, corrective and/or preventative actions, and recommending solutions to enhance and improve the quality of departmental and/or company-wide business activities

  • Provide technical support for existing automation systems

  • Management of Automation Assets and Systems across the Americas

  • Maintain 5-10-year automation roadmap.    Roadmap covers all mfg. and distribution operations (currently: Carol Stream - IL, Reynosa- MX and McAllen - TX)

  • Determine priority and sequencing for executing automation projects to maximize return to balance utilization of implementation resources.

  • Work closely day to day with 3rd party integrators and automation product and service companies to assure full support for MFT and compliance to their commitments.

Who You Are

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, established leadership skills, and a team-player mentality

  • Bachelor’s degree in electronic/electrical Engineering or related engineering field

  • Working knowledge of process upgrades involving PLC, HMI, or SCADA systems

  • Strong leadership, organizational planning and project management skills, in addition to technical knowledge are required to interact with multi-disciplinary teams

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral) in order to lead direct reports, interface across management levels and departments

  • Strong self-accountability and result orientation

  • Kaizen/Lean manufacturing basics

  • Purchasing/requisition exp.

  • Machine Safety/ISO/OSHA Standard

  • Mechanical engineering – understanding of principle concepts a large breath of knowledge or experience.

  • Quality Control – No-go gauge function/red rabbit part introduction. Strong root cause analysis skills
