Why this role is important?

Term Length: 4 Months

Term Start: January 8, 2025

Term End: April 18, 2025 

As of October 15, 2024 Loblaw has adopted the following Hybrid working model (a combination of working between the office and remotely). Colleagues will continue working remotely up to 1 day a week, while spending the other 4 days in the office.

The Technical Analyst's primary responsibility will be to support the foundational data capabilities that drive all intelligence and insights work at SHN. This includes a dual-focus on developing and maintaining key data ingestion processes and pipelines as well as designing and building thoughtful data-driven outputs that support value-add insights to various business users. In general, The Analyst’s role is to ensure our data assets are made available to business users in a meaningful way.


What you will do:

  • Liaise with stakeholders to understand business and/or operational needs and translate those into data requirements
  • Develop new and/or maintain existing ingestion pipelines that ensure data assets from various sources are made available and accessible in our custom environment
  • Design, develop, and validate data transformations that aim to unlock new opportunities for business analysts and other end users to leverage our data to provide key insights to both internal colleagues and external clients
  • Develop and maintain business requirements, functional requirements, and technical specification documentation for all processes

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Working towards a Business/Computer Science/Engineering/Math/Science degree
  • Knowledge and understanding of Relational Databases, SQL, and Cloud Infrastructure are key skills
  • Effective organizational and communication skills
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
