Your missions

PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT:

Home River Group is looking to hire a Remote Property Accountant. The position will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the day-to-day accounting and reporting of property management assets and funds that invest in these assets. Ensure accurate reporting of all associated financial activities of the property, including payments, disbursements, and equity draws. Support property managers, supervisors and senior property accountants.

 Key Responsibilities:

  •  Review security deposit analysis and ensure timely distributions.
  •  Review and maintain surety bond claim schedules ensuring that all claims are submitted timely, and cash is received.
  •  Review bank and balance sheet reconciliations and investigate and resolve certain reconciling items
  •  Review and approve various payments/sweeps to the Company’s operating cash accounts.
  •  Ensure all owner distribution payments are made promptly and maintain internal schedules.
  •  Monitor daily positive pay activity and ensure all payment requests are resolved on a daily basis.
  •  Manage client sales tax licenses and returns for states that require rent tax submission.
  •  Assist with the month-end process by preparing and reviewing various analysis and recording journal entries to correct balances.
  •  Assist with year-end generation of client 1099s and 1042s.
  •  Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements, activity reporting and supplemental analysis for retail owners.
  •  Assist in property setup and transition, which includes recording beginning balance information, sale pro-ration calculations, and closing entries.
  •  Assist in the Company’s annual audit process.
  •  Record and pay state and federal withholding tax in connection with owner distributions.
  •  Special projects and tasks as assigned.

         Qualifications:

  •  Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or equivalent experience
  •  1-2 years of property accounting experience.
  •  Must have strong interpersonal skills and drive to provide superior customer service to all parties.
  •  Self-starter attitude and ability to prioritize, handle multiple assignments, exercise judgment, and take ownership of projects without direct supervision.
  •  Team player with a strong work ethic and proactive orientation, who can anticipate needs, is assertive, and highly accountable, with a mature and positive attitude.
