Your missions

Overview:

LMI is seeking a junior business analyst to join our team supporting development of a medical information system managed by Health Information Systems and Decision Support (HISDS) Office under the Office of Health Security (OHS). OHS leads DHS efforts in protecting the health of their workforce and the homeland. As a junior business analyst, you will play a critical role in an agile product development team, defining business processes and decomposing requirements to build a cutting edge product.  The candidate must be able to obtain DHS Suitability and have an active Secret clearance. This is an Offsite position, and can be supported remotely, except when the client needs the Onsite support at their DHS St. Elizabeth's complex in Washington DC. The Onsite work will be based on the client's need.

Responsibilities:
  • Interface with users and stakeholders to understand current state business processes, pain points, and opportunities for improvements in the future state.
  • Facilitate requirements gathering sessions, using methods such as interviews, focus groups, desk research, contextual inquiry, journey mapping, etc.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop requirements artifacts using tool and techniques such as user story maps, epics, user stories.
  • Support product leadership and development team members with backlog management, prioritization, acceptance criteria and definition of done.
  • Support in maintaining process models, requirements and continuous tracking of changes.
  • Solicit input from Subject Matter Experts as needed and develop products to include briefings for executive and user/stakeholder engagements, and other program relevant documents. 
  • Maintain rapidly changing program documentation, ensuring that documents are up-to-date and applying version control to all artifacts and presentations, including ensuring changes in substantive content are implemented across all communication products.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience
  • Ability to obtain DHS Suitability
  • Excellent communications skills (oral and written)
  • Experience in working in with an agile development team, in a DevOps environment
  • Experience in supporting software-centric, developmental programs that apply Agile methodology (Scrum and/or Kanban)  
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite, MS Teams, Visio and SharePoint
  • Knowledge in DHS or DoD acquisition management process highly preferred
