Description

Pharmacists Mutual Insurance has an opening for a Project Manager. This role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, implementation, execution, control and completion of specific projects ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals. The Project Manager will accomplish project objectives by planning and evaluating project activities. The Project Manager will also implement and provide guidance related to processes, oversee the work of project staff, and work with other department leaders to define, prioritize, and develop projects and programs.

Project Manager I

  • Responsible for basic project management duties.
  • Manages small to medium projects with direction and assistance, as needed.

Essential Functions

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Lead the planning and implementation of projects.
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, tasks, goals and deliverables.
  • Define resource requirements and develop full scale project plans.
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff.
  • Manage project budget and manage project resource allocation.
  • Monitors and coordinates resource allocation, mindful of both project and portfolio impacts.
  • Works collaboratively with project management peers & resource managers to effectively address project portfolio needs.
  • Oversees project portfolio content, ensuring that projects and processes are managed per standards.
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools.
  • Provide direction and support to project team.
  • Frequently and regularly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders.
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions.
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs.
  • Complete project evaluations and assessment of results.
  • Manages assigned projects from initiation to closure.
  • Ensures proper project results by supporting the team as needed.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Qualification in project management or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of project management.
  • Direct work experience in project management capacity.
  • Proven experience in people management, strategic planning, risk management, and change management.
  • Proficient in project management software.
  • Ability to analyze complex issues and make critical decisions.
  • Ability to deal constructively with conflict and develop effective resolutions.
  • Obtain and utilize sensitive information discreetly and objectively.
  • Maintain records, prepare reports and conduct correspondence related to the work.
  • Correct English usage; spelling, grammar, vocabulary and punctuation.
  • Read, interpret and input data efficiently and accurately.
  • Communicate effectively with others (oral and written).
  • Follow oral and written directions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Ability to provide effective customer service.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work.
  • Work independently and demonstrates initiative.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks concurrently.
  • Meet definite deadlines and deal with pressure situations.
  • Utilize computer and related software effectively.
Qualifications

Experience and Education Qualifications

Project Manager I

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 year of related experience; or
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent and 3 years of related experience; or
  • Bachelor’s Degree

Work Environment

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting
  • Work may involve travel to attend meetings at other locations
