GEICO is seeking an experienced Senior Manager with a passion for building systems and applications that support GEICO’s Cyber Fusion Center. You will build and manage a team of engineers with a deep focus on delivering products to support cybersecurity event and alert management, incident response, forensics, threat intelligence, and incident management, and help drive the transformation of GEICO’s cybersecurity program.
Our Senior Manager will be an engineering leader who works with engineering staff and cybersecurity professionals to innovate and build new engineering solutions, improve and enhance existing solutions, and leverage stakeholder engineering solutions to solve critical operational problems. This Senior Manager will lead strategy and execution of a technical roadmap that will deliver cybersecurity products that transform or unlock new cybersecurity capabilities for GEICO. The ideal candidate is a leader with has technical expertise in leading effective engineering teams to build reliable, high-performance solutions built with a mix of open source and proprietary software. They will work closely with other Cyber Fusion Center leaders to deliver on our vision for a unified, common operating picture that merges threat intelligence, security telemetry, behavioral analytics, and other signals into clear, actionable intelligence and business insights that drive timely and effective response, blocking threat vectors before harm can occur, and ensuring timely mitigation and recovery when it does occur.
Position Responsibilities
As a Senior Manager, you will:
Support, assess, and grow the performance of your team members; fostering relationships within your team to create a culture of trust that positively motivates them to achieve more for themselves, GEICO, and our customers.
5+ years’ experience and demonstrated proficiency in scripting and programming languages such as Python, Go(lang), Java, C++, JavaScript, .NET, Ruby or Rust, and demonstrated fluency with JSON, and RESTful Web Services.
4+ years of experience with one or more cloud services: AWS, GCP, Azure, or another private or public cloud service.
Demonstrated applied knowledge of application development life cycle methodologies such as agile software development, rapid prototyping, incremental, synchronize and stabilize, and DevSecOps.
Demonstrated working knowledge of object-oriented development, Gang of Four (GOF) Design Patterns, Microservices, Dependency Injection with IOC containers, and both frontend and backend unit testing.
Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and make decisions in challenging situations, along with critical thinking, judgement, and problem-solving skills.
Annual Salary
$115,000.00 - $260,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
