The Role

The Brand & Alliance Finance Director will play a critical role in supporting the financial performance and strategic direction of our US Market brands. This role requires heavy business partnering with Genmab senior leadership and Alliance business partners to drive growth and ensure financial goals are met.  The Brand & Alliance Finance Director is responsible for overseeing all aspects of brand financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, analysis, and strategic planning. A strong strategic mindset, cross functional partnership, extensive financial acumen, and the ability to lead and influence at all levels of the organization are key requirements.  This position reports to the VP of Finance, US Market and Alliances. 

Responsibilities

  • Lead the annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes for US Market Brands in close collaboration with our alliance partners.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to brand and alliance leadership, identifying opportunities for growth, and providing recommendations that influence business decisions
  • Lead financial management of our commercial alliances and ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with contractual obligations.
  • Monitor and analyze brand performance, including Sales, P&L, and other key metrics.
  • Lead the financial evaluation of new product launches, strategic investments, and other brand initiatives, ensuring alignment with financial objectives.
  • Collaborate closely with Commercial, Medical Affairs, and other G&A functions to support brand strategies and initiatives.
  • Present financial results, forecasts, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, alliance leadership, and other key stakeholders.
  • Lead and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Develop and maintain financial models to support decision-making and scenario planning.
  • Lead the continuous improvement of financial reporting processes and tools.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, accounting standards, and internal controls
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a direct report to be a high performer while providing career development opportunities.
  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis support on US Market initiatives and projects.
  • Other responsibilities and projects assigned by the VP of Finance, US Market and Alliances.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline is required. A CPA/ MBA or other graduate degree is desired.
  • 12+ years of progressive experience in operational finance
  • SAP and Adaptive experience is a plus
  • Alliance partnership experience is a plus
  • Solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (US GAAP and IFRS)
  • Strong experience in designing & leading best-in-class FP&A processes, working with a large complex global life sciences company is required.
  • Ability to frame and communicate to executive leadership and alliance partners clearly and concisely
  • Progressive, forward thinker; ambitious; comfortable with ambiguity; tenacious; flexible.
  • Drive tangible results, able to push for results but also collaborate with others to drive them. 
  • Effective in using state of the art of analysis tools to ensure timely, accurate, and insightful forecasts; systems implementation and fluency in latest digital trends in FP&A is a plus.
  • Experience working in a variety of financial or operating assignments in which he or she has been responsible for executing best-in-class disciplines to optimize business results.
  • Ability to balance multiple, sometimes conflicting priorities to achieve a positive outcome.
  • Team player with an ownership mentality who will “roll up the sleeves,” and demonstrate a diplomatic, intuitive and mature presence; operate well in a fast-paced environment.

For US based candidates, the proposed salary band for this position is as follows:

$165,000.00---$275,000.00

The actual salary offer will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of compensation, such as bonuses.
