Job Title: Manager, Enterprise DevOps

Reports to: Sr. Manager, Integrations & Development

Location: Remote – US

The Role

This role streamlines the software development lifecycle to improve developer productivity, delivery speed, and code quality. They work closely with development, operations and security teams to identify and resolve pain points and inefficiencies in delivery workflows. Key responsibilities include automating delivery processes and maintaining the continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.

Your Impact
The primary function of this role, includes but are not limited to:

  • Streamline the software development lifecycle by identifying pain points and productivity barriers and determining ways to resolve them. 
  • Collaborate closely with development teams to understand their current build and release processes and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, including development, operations, quality assurance and security, to streamline processes.
  • Be a mentor and coach DevOps engineers.
  • Oversee all DevOps application infrastructure, development, and delivery tools, including any monitoring tools.
  • Define key metrics vital to respective applications and manage them through KPIs.
  • Provide guidance to development teams to improve performance and operability of the solutions they develop.
  • Build and maintain the CI/CD pipelines to improve developer productivity, agility and code quality.
  • Develop and continuously improve automation solutions to enable teams to build and deploy code efficiently and consistently.
  • Build automated testing to reduce manual effort and improve product quality.
  • Ensure that systems meet business and customer needs for reliability and availability.
  • Monitor and manage application performance and service quality, including initial troubleshooting, identification of root cases and issue resolution.
  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to analyze and troubleshoot complex production issues. 
  • Prepare and present design and implementation documentation to multiple stakeholders.
  • Promote DevOps principles and culture across the software engineering organization.

Who You Are

  • Strong collaboration skills, with a demonstrated ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Experience in developing CI/CD workflows and tools.
  • Leadership qualities and experience in managing and developing teams.
  • Proficiency in two or more coding languages like JavaScript, C++, Python, Java
  • Experience with two or more DevOps platforms like AWS, Azure, Docker, Kubernetes.
  • Strong automation scripting skills.
  • Proficient experience in code repositories, performance monitoring, configuration management, test-driven development and release management tools.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with agile development and strong understanding of DevOps principles.
  • Ability to investigate and analyze information, and to draw conclusions.
  • Flexibility, adaptability and desire to learn new languages and technologies.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Experience with ServiceNow and Jira

We’d love to hear from people with

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent applied experience.
  • Certifications on any DevOps processes are a plus.
  • 12 years of total experience in software engineering.
  • 9 years of relevant DevOps experience.
  • 5 years of experience as a supervisor or people manager.
  • Background in Retail Industry with enterprise application development or similar areas are preferred.

$150,000 - $170,000

The salary range posted reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this role in our Goleta, CA location. Individual pay will be determined by location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary for your preferred location during the hiring process.
