Accountant, Charity Payments - JustGiving

About the role

We’re looking for a part or fully qualified accountant to join the JustGiving Charity Payments team – our team plays a crucial role in reconciling all incoming donations, accounting for funds held by JustGiving and ensuring that amounts are disbursed within predetermined timelines.

The role will have elements of both traditional accounting and commercial analysis, you have daily tasks such as reconciliations and reporting (PSD2 for UK, Sarbanes Oxley for US), whilst supporting the wider group to measure performance and help budget planning for new projects. 

Our team is self-driven, ambitious, highly proactive and play an important role for our platform and the charities we support. We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in our business and is willing to get stuck in, learn and grow with the team and wider organisation.

What you'll do

• Daily settlement reconciliations for incoming donations

• Handling chargebacks, bounce backs and other bank related items both internally and externally

• Analysis of card fee and other payment costs for JustGiving and other platforms

• Investigation of any differences and escalating where appropriate

• Bank reconciliations

• Involved in the handling of the back-end management of Gift Aid

• Transaction screening for all Crowdfunding payments

• Support audit teams in information gathering   

What you'll bring

• Some experience within a finance role – Accounts Payable, Payroll, Billing 

• You will have experience of bank (and other) reconciliations

• Intermediate level Excel skills

• You will be an efficient worker, have strong attention to detail and the ability to work to tight month end deadlines

• You will be not be phased by business change and able to pivot when priorities and business needs dictate
