Controller

The Controller plays a vital role in driving organizational growth by enhancing the delivery of timely and accurate financial data, enabling informed decision-making to achieve strategic goals. This full-time position is ideal for a highly organized, self-motivated professional with strong accounting expertise and a focus on client service. The role requires a proactive individual with a "can-do" attitude who can efficiently and accurately complete tasks with minimal supervision.

How you will make a difference:

• Maintain compliance with the initial registration process.
• Being the point of contact for Safeguard in Japan, managing its office and other general matters.
• Work towards global expansion from setting up business to addressing daily queries.
• Prepare financial statements and analyze different reports.
• Collaborate/manage offshore teams to support accounting and compliance as per local GAAP
• Managing the yearly & monthly compliances for Japan.
• Assisting your portfolio of clients with their accounting requirements
• Act as local director for the client entity.

What will give you an advantage:

• 7-10 years of experience in Accounting and/or Finance
• 4 Year Degree in Accounting or Business
• Public accounting experience preferred but not required
• Must have the ability to manage an off-site team.
• International accounting experience preferred
• Practical business acumen and ability to work with senior executives
• Strong consolidation experience working multiple entities
• Must have strong computer skills including Excel, Word, Outlook
• Excellent written and verbal skills required
• Must be able to manage time effectively – ability to multi-task with ease
• Strong ability to focus with attention to detail and very accurate with numbers
• Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Must have good organizational and follow-up skills; ability to problem solve
