Your missions

Job Summary: The Real Estate Bookkeeper is responsible for managing the financial records of a real estate company, including processing transactions, maintaining accurate ledgers, and ensuring compliance with all financial regulations. The role requires a strong understanding of real estate accounting practices, attention to detail, and the ability to work with various financial tools and software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Financial Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger entries, and bank reconciliations.
  • Property Management Accounting: Track and record all income and expenses related to property management, including rent payments, property maintenance costs, and utilities.
  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets for individual properties and the overall real estate portfolio.
  • Financial Reporting: Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Tax Preparation: Prepare and file necessary tax documents, including property tax returns, and assist with year-end tax preparation.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal financial regulations, including real estate-specific laws and regulations.
  • QuickBooks Management: Utilize QuickBooks or similar accounting software for day-to-day financial management and reporting.
  • Vendor Management: Manage vendor payments, track expenses, and ensure timely payment of all invoices.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are accurately recorded.
  • Tenant Ledger Management: Maintain accurate tenant ledgers, ensuring that all rent payments are properly recorded and discrepancies are addressed.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and financial reports.
  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making processes related to property acquisitions, sales, and management.
