The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As an Assistant Financial Controller - Nordics (m/f/x)*, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Financial Analysis and reporting: analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to different departments, shared service center in Poland and management. Prepare and compile internal and governmental statistical reports in accordance with established guidelines and deadlines

  • Payroll Accounting: analyze payroll accounts and cooperate with global shared service center to ensure financial data compliance. Support the reconciliation of payroll accounts and resolution of any discrepancies in a timely manner and communication with public administration

  • Financial Compliance and Auditing: Assist with internal and external audits, including providing documentation, and addressing audit findings. Ensure compliance with financial regulations and internal and external standards (US-GAAP, statutory GAAP and internal regulations)

  • Continuous Improvement: Stay current with statutory accounting standards, regulations, and best practices, and seek opportunities to improve processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Identify financial risks in the matrix organization and develop strategies to mitigate them, such as implementing internal controls and risk management procedures. Collaborate with the shared service center and other stakeholders to implement changes and streamline processes

  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other departments, shared-service center and stakeholders to provide financial information, support decision-making, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Provide training and support to shared-service staff on financial processes, systems, and best practices as needed. Build and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders, including external auditors, and regulatory authorities. Communicate financial information and updates in a clear and timely manner

  • Ad-Hoc Requests: Respond promptly and accurately to ad-hoc requests from management and other departments. Gather and analyze data to support decision-making processes

Your Skills and Expertise 
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance

  • Audit background preferred

AND

In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:

  • Experience in liaison with statutory auditors

  • 5+ years of experience in similar roles

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft dynamics 365 software

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Fluent in English, Swedish or Danish

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines effectively

  • Ability to work in cross-functional teams

  • Well-organized with ability to prioritize

Work location: Remote (Denmark, Sweden, Poland)

Travel: Occasional

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
