The Opportunity

We are seeking a Senior iOS Engineer with over 7 years of professional experience to take full ownership of our iOS development efforts. As the sole iOS Engineer on the mobile team, you will have a significant impact on the direction and success of our mobile app. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on autonomy, enjoys tackling complex challenges, and is passionate about building best-in-class mobile solutions.

You will work closely with an Android developer, as well as a product designer and a product manager, to deliver exceptional products that revolutionize the professional tax industry. This is a fully remote position, but based in Utah.

What You'll Do:

  • Lead the design, development, and implementation of new features for our iOS app, utilizing the latest industry technologies, including Swift and SwiftUI, within an iOS 16+ codebase.
  • Take full ownership of the iOS codebase, maintaining and optimizing it to ensure scalability, performance, and high-quality user experiences.
  • Collaborate with API teams to influence and guide API design, ensuring seamless integration and performance within the mobile app.
  • Work closely with the Android developer to ensure feature parity and a cohesive mobile strategy across platforms.
  • Manage the entire app submission process, including pushing builds to TestFlight and releasing apps to the App Store via App Store Connect.
  • Adapt to changing business needs by pivoting between feature development, bug fixes, and other critical tasks as required.
  • Continuously research and incorporate new technologies and best practices to keep the app at the forefront of the industry.
  • Mentor and potentially guide any future additions to the iOS team, setting the foundation for continued growth and success.

What We’re Looking For:
We are looking for a seasoned iOS developer who can independently drive the development of our iOS app. This role requires deep technical expertise, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. We value individuals who are self-motivated, passionate about their work, and dedicated to building excellent products.

What You’ll Need:

  • 7+ years of professional iOS development experience.
  • Proven track record with at least one released app available on the App Store.
  • Strong proficiency in Swift, with expertise in working with APIs, higher-order functions, multi-threading, and async programming.
  • Experience with programmatic UI, Auto Layout, and the ability to optimize app performance for scalability.
  • Hands-on experience with App Store Connect, including app submission, release management, and TestFlight build distribution.
  • Ability to work independently, taking full responsibility for the iOS app while collaborating effectively with the broader mobile team.
  • Experience in pivoting between different tasks based on business needs, whether it's building new features or addressing urgent bug fixes.
  • Continuous curiosity to discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies that maximize development efficiency.
  • Bonus Points for experience working with both UIKit and SwiftUI together, ensuring smooth transitions and compatibility within the codebase.
