Senior Frontend Javascript Developer

What we’re looking for

Ideaware is looking for an experienced Frontend Javascript Developer with experience in core web technologies and modern JavaScript frameworks such as Vue to work as part of our highly successful Justride team to join our engineering team & work on an inspiring international project with a UK partner, their platform primarily uses Vue, with some legacy code in Angular.

Our partner is driving the fare payment revolution, powering the journeys of millions worldwide. They build fare collection platforms that allow riders to seamlessly buy and present tickets for public transport either on their mobile phones, from a ticket machine, or even by tapping their bank card to travel. 

Their platform is used in over 250 locations globally, including some of the largest cities in the world. With their industry-first mobile ticketing SDK, they’ve partnered with large players in the transport space, including Uber, Moovit, and Transit. 

They also host hack days a few times a year. These events are primarily for fun, learning, and prototyping cool and innovative ideas that could benefit our customers.

Responsibilities

Responsible for developing and maintaining several web applications used by platform customers. These platforms combined currently process over $1 billion in transactions a year. With these kinds of numbers, security, and fraud mitigation are paramount to success.

Our partner ensures high standards through comprehensive end-to-end and unit testing and refactoring, ensuring we work to the latest standards and best practices.

Work as part of a cross-discipline team that delivers robust and reusable components from product requirements through UX, design, development, and quality assurance. We are seeking a proactive person to join the team and actively contribute to code reviews, pairing, knowledge sharing, mentoring, and technical road-mapping.

Qualifications

• Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and TypeScript, with experience in ECMAScript and other transpilers.
• Skilled in using JavaScript component frameworks like Vue and Angular.
• Strong understanding of web standards, accessibility, and usability, including W3C standards and WCAG 2.2.
• A good command of the English language, including the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in written and spoken English, is required for this role.
• Experienced with client-side bundlers such as Webpack, Rollup, and Vite.
• Led the delivery of complex, innovative solutions in fast-paced environments, adapting to changing priorities.
• Committed to mentoring front-end engineers, helping them grow their skills and become more effective.
• Skilled in making strategic decisions and communicating effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
• Approachable, patient, and an excellent communicator who thrives in a collaborative environment.
• Passionate about maintaining technical quality and user-centered design.
• Champion best practices across the software development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, builds, automated testing, and operations.

Nice to have

• Experience with hybrid web and mobile app development using Capacitor.JS and React Native.
• Familiarity with native mobile technologies for both iOS and Android.
• Experience migrating between JavaScript frameworks, with some exposure to other modern programming or scripting languages like Java, Kotlin, or Python.
