Your missions

Home River Group, the largest national third-party residential property management company, is looking to hire a Remote Controller to join our Corporate Finance team. Responsible for consolidated financial reporting, corporate accounting functions, treasury and coordination of the annual external audit and company tax filings. This includes the development of and adherence to consistent processes and controls. The hiring and development of talent is critical to the overall success of these functions.

Controller’s Core Responsibilities:

 Oversee the monthly financial close process including the development of the monthly financial

reporting package and related MD&A.

 Coordinate the identification and implementation of common systems and processes across all

markets.

 Develop and maintain a weekly cash flow forecasting and reporting process.

 Integrate acquired company financial information and processes into the existing platform.

 Maintain working relationships with the external audit and tax firm to ensure audit and tax

deadlines are met.

 Fulfill other management and external reporting requirements such as KPI, unit count reporting,

quarterly reports to shareholders, etc.

 Actively participate in Corporate and other leadership meetings using current and historical

financial performance to provide a national perspective.

 Attract, develop, and lead the corporate finance team

Controller’s Education/Experience Needed:

 Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required

 CPA and/or MBA a plus

 10-12+ years’ experience in managing high performing accounting teams required

 Experience working with private equity firms or privately held companies

 Use of technology systems and strong analytical skills

 Advance experience with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

 Prior experience using Intacct Software

 Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in preparing and

communicating management reports

 Team player with strong work ethic, pro-active orientation, who can anticipate needs, is

assertive, and highly accountable, with a mature and positive attitude.
