Description

Are you an experienced Database Administrator with a passion for optimizing and managing databases in a dynamic environment? This role is a perfect fit for someone who thrives in a remote work environment and is eager to make an impact in a fast-growing tech company. You will work closely with our DevOps team, contributing to the performance, efficiency, and security of our database systems. If you have experience with AWS environments and a strong background in database management, this could be your next great opportunity!

Key Responsibilities

  • Database Management: Oversee databases across all environments to support development, QA, and production systems. Ensure high availability and fault-tolerant architecture with cross-region replication and failover capabilities.
  • Performance Improvement: Continuously enhance database performance, efficiency, and security. Implement best practices for database management.
  • Collaboration: Work with operations, engineering, and software development teams to optimize database queries and implement management best practices.
  • Deployment & Changes: Evaluate, test, and deploy database changes and code to support new system features and improvements.
  • On-Call Support: Participate in a 24⁄7 on-call rotation to address escalated issues impacting production systems.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 6+ years managing RDS/MySQL databases with a deep understanding of database management best practices.
  • Skills:
    • Expertise in performance tuning, backup/restore processes, real-time replication, disaster recovery, and security.
    • Ability to document and design solutions before implementation.
  • Attributes:
    • A proactive self-starter who excels in a fast-paced environment.
    • Strong team player with excellent communication skills.
    • Must be a U.S. Person due to FedRAMP authorization requirements.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
