About The Role

We are seeking an experienced backend Mortgage/HELOC originating professional to join our Operations team. In this role, you will take full ownership of the mortgage and HELOC post-closing process, working closely with both internal teams and external partners to ensure everything runs smoothly. As a Post Close Operations Associate, you'll be responsible for managing investor inquiries, handling document requests, and overseeing the processing and recording of Assignments of Mortgage.

What You'll Do

  • Deliver exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with Customer Operations to ensure a seamless post-closing mortgage process
  • Work independently to prioritize tasks based on investor delivery deadlines and closing dates
  • Focus on processes and continuously seek opportunities for improvements and efficiencies
  • Review original closing documents to ensure proper execution
  • Monitor and check credit packages into our proprietary system for shipping
  • Follow up on and request corrections for all trailing documents
  • Obtain and submit supporting documentation to address any recording needs or errors
  • Resolve exceptions by communicating with Settlement agents, Borrowers, and other third-party vendors
  • Register loans with MERS/DART within required timeframes and manage service release loan transfers
  • Track and process Assignments of Mortgage from our partners
  • Audit files and generate reports according to guidelines, highlighting recurring issues and trends to management
  • Ability to secure a notary license
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What We're Looking For

  • Experience in residential mortgage lending, with a preference for post-closing experience
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment with minimal direction and tight deadlines
  • Strong communication skills with a proven ability to resolve issues and meet response deadlines
  • Exceptional customer service skills to effectively work with external customers and internal teams
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a large pipeline of loans
  • Analytical mindset with a drive to identify process improvements and opportunities for automation
  • In-depth knowledge of HELOC loans, FNMA, FHLMC, and private investor products
  • Thorough understanding of federal and state regulations, including HELOC and Conventional guidelines, RESPA, TILA, HOEPA, and QM
  • Familiarity with state and county recording requirements

For residents of Colorado, New York, California, and Washington, the salary range is \(19 - \)21 per hour, with up to a 15% bonus and equity. Actual compensation may vary based on experience and location.
