Job Description

Interface Project Manager III, REMOTE

Position Summary

A member of the Clinic Interfaces and Electronic Medical Records team, the Interface Project Manager is responsible for collaborating cross-functionally with the commercial team, clinical team, clients, technical resources, and EMR system vendors to drive and coordinate EMR integration projects from start to finish. The Interface Project Manager will work to continuously improve the integration experience and streamline its support by identifying opportunities for enhancement, collaborating with operational and engineering teams to develop solutions, and facilitating delivery of the workflow improvement and new product solutions to internal and external stakeholders.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead special projects for the EMR team (e.g. product pilots, new technology development, process optimization initiatives); plan, organize, and manage projects spanning multiple teams following established project management methodologies; ensure scope, objectives, and success metrics are understood and measurable; identify dependencies and mitigate risks while working with stakeholders to drive projects to completion; deliver projects on time and in budget
  • Complete new orders/results integration projects including qualification; technical discovery and scope development; coordination with vendor, clinic, and field representatives; configuration and testing; collaboration with Interface Engineers and other teams as needed; onboarding and post go-live monitoring
  • Maintain Salesforce records to track integration requests and statuses, and JIRA tickets for tracking technical projects
  • Generate documentation to capture client workflows, as well as systems configurations/requirements for maintenance support and process repeatability
  • Identify opportunities for optimization and drive their adoption

INTERACTIONS:

This position interacts cross-functionally with various teams within and outside of the organization on a regular basis.

The Interface Project Manager interacts with the commercial, operational, clinical, and engineering teams at Myriad—spanning business units. The Interface Project Manager interacts with external clients and EMR system vendors to coordinate integration projects and facilitate resolutions for EMR-related issues and operational inefficiencies.

PROBLEM SOLVING/DECISION MAKING:

The Interface Project Manager both coordinates relatively standardized projects and collaborates on projects with varying scope and complexity where no playbook exists. This individual can surface and escalate technical and operational challenges within defined project scope to more senior members of the team for discussion and resolution. This individual will establish expertise in the clinic experience of various EMR platforms, and develop a broad understanding of our operational processes throughout the pipeline. In doing so, this individual can identify opportunities for improvement to the integration process as well as strategies and approaches for the team and organization. They will also drive adoption of these approaches. This individual develops skills to independently manage relationships with external clients and EMR system vendors to facilitate prompt issue resolution and project completion in the future. This individual uses independent and collaborative judgment to clear technical and operational hurdles that arise in assigned projects. This individual often comfortably balances several commitments and proactively advances long-term initiatives, while tackling emergent day-to-day demands with the ability to discern fluctuating priority.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) is required. Degrees in Science, Engineering, or another qualitative discipline are strongly preferred.
  • 5-7+ years of experience in healthcare and/or genetics, with direct exposure to EMR and/or LIS systems.
  • 4-6+ years of experience in project and/or program management, PMP certification preferred
  • Familiarity with agile and scrum concepts is highly valued.
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Proven drive to streamline processes and minimize repetitive work.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with prior success managing multiple large-scope projects.
  • Experience with these or similar systems:
    • Interface Engine/Middleware: Mirth Connect
    • HL7 Messaging Standards: ORM/ORU, ADT/SIU, CCD, CDA FHIR
    • CRM, issue tracking, documentation: Salesforce, Service Cloud, JIRA, Confluence
