The Director, Worldwide Channel Commerce Strategy, will be a key architect in shaping and driving the strategic direction of Veeam’s global partner programs, which generate $1.7 billion in revenue. This role demands a visionary leader who will provide thought leadership and strategic counsel to the Worldwide Commerce Strategy team, ensuring that Veeam's partner go-to-market initiatives are aligned with the company's long-term objectives. 

As the strategic leader for Veeam's partner ecosystem, you will be responsible for the comprehensive development, implementation, and management of the global partner program strategy. You will translate Veeam’s overarching strategic goals into actionable initiatives, ensuring the alignment of resources and efforts from conception through execution. This includes driving key processes, managing complex deadlines, securing leadership approvals, and overseeing successful implementation across global teams. 

You will work closely with cross-functional teams, providing high-level strategic support to internal and external stakeholders. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a collaborative environment that accelerates Veeam's market positioning through innovative and effective channel programs.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct and Drive Strategic Planning: Lead the strategic planning for Veeam’s go-to-market approach with the partner ecosystem, including Value Added Resellers (VARs), Veeam Cloud and Service Providers (VCSPs), Managed Service Providers (MSPs), and Veeam Accredited Service Partners (VASPs), ensuring alignment with Veeam’s corporate objectives. Engage and consult with Alliance and GSI leadership teams
  • Manage Financial Incentive Programs: Develop, implement, and establish systems to track and report on financial incentive programs for VARs, VCSPs, Distributors, and Aggregators. Present and propose modifications to the Senior Leadership Team to ensure incentives drive ARR growth while managing Veeam’s costs effectively
  • Drive Program Enhancements and Process Improvement: Collaborate with global stakeholders, both internal and external to the Worldwide Commerce Strategy team, to identify, architect, and implement program enhancements, process improvements, and automation
  • Utilize Aha! for Task Management: Use the Aha! tool to manage tasks and provide visibility to both leadership and stakeholders
  • Identify and Implement New Strategies: Proactively identify new strategies and operational requirements. Work with regional and global stakeholders to delegate responsibilities and ensure effective execution
  • Foster Key Stakeholder Relationships: Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including sales, corporate technology, global and regional channel marketing, channel operations teams, finance, pricing, and product marketing
  • Partner with Sales Acceleration: Collaborate with Sales Acceleration (enablement) to deliver relevant and impactful training programs that drive increased partner-initiated revenue and program compliance
  • Enhance Operational Processes: Improve operational processes such as SFDC hygiene, deal registration, onboarding, registration, rebates, and portal tools to enhance visibility and reduce administrative overhead for partners and Veeam
  • Advocate for Channel Programs: Champion Veeam’s channel programs within the organization and serve as a subject matter expert across the global organization

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of channel experience with a proven track record of scaling programs across multiple partner types
  • Experienced with worldwide responsibilities and multicultural environments
  • Sales experience is desired
  • Experience presenting to senior leadership teams (SVPs, CxOs)
  • Experience with the Aha! program management software or similar is desired.  
  • Solid business acumen with strong understanding of partner business models and objectives
  • Excellent English language verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Experience working in a matrix structure, ability to lead without authority, ability to influence
  • Ability to build financial models to support program proposals (with support from finance and sales operations)
  • Intermediate (or higher) mastery of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Intermediate technical aptitude to consume information and participate in discussions about (a) backend systems and (b) IT technologies relevant to Veeam (backup and disaster recovery, storage, virtualization, cloud computing, etc.)

The salary range posted is On Target Earnings (OTE), which is inclusive of base and variable pay. When making an offer of employment, Veeam will take into consideration the candidate’s expectations, experience, education, scope of responsibility for the role, and the current market demands.
