Blue Ridge Power (BRP) is seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist to join our team! The Quality Assurance Specialist will create site-specific Quality Plans and Inspection Test Plans and support front-end quality program planning for projects constructed by BRP. The Quality Assurance Specialist will utilize power plant designs and installation manuals to develop comprehensive inspections within BRP’s Construction Management System (Procore) for the Quality Assurance Teams. This position is designated as a safety-sensitive position.

This individual will report to the Manager, Quality Programming and be part of the Safety, Environment, and Quality Implementation team.

What You’ll Do:

  • Create site-specific quality plans and support handover to operational quality team members.
  • Support the bidding process by providing an analysis of contract quality requirements and identifying opportunities and risks for commercial team members.
  • Utilize contracts, equipment manuals, and drawings to create site Inspection Test Plans.
  • Develop and manage CMS (Procore) inspections for Quality Control and Quality Assurance Teams.
  • Support and implement changes within the Quality Assurance department with direction from the Manager, Quality Programming, and Director, Construction Quality.
  • Audit projects quality programs and status reports.
  • Act as primary liaison between the front end and quality operations team.
  • Develop BRP’s SEQ acumen and knowledge.
  • Support larger SEQ Implementation team goals and initiatives.

Must-Haves:

  • 2+ years of Solar Construction Quality Management or relevant experience or 6+ years of experience without a bachelor’s degree.
  • Advanced experience working within Construction Management Software, specifically Procore.
  • Strong understanding of contracts and ability to interpret customer expectations and requirements.
  • Experience creating comprehensive Quality plans and inspections by utilizing drawing sets and equipment manuals to determine necessary requirements.
  • Advanced ability in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Outstanding management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent English writing and speaking skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret utility-scale solar designs.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment installation manuals.
  • Ability to read and interpret substation drawings.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.

Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent education preferred.
  • Must possess and retain a current valid driver's license is required.

Working Environment and Physical Demand:

  • Travel up to 25% to our project sites. 
  • The position requires travel by vehicle and working remotely.
  • Must possess reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to comply with all company safety standards and procedures including OSHA requirements.
  • Must follow organization policies and procedures.
  • Individuals in this position work in an outdoor environment and must be able to tolerate all climates.
  • Must be able to sit/stand at a desk and utilize a computer, for extended periods. 
  • Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel, bend, stand, or walk short to long distances for 8-10 hours daily.
  • Must be able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 pounds occasionally.
