Key Responsibilities:

  • Collections & Follow-Up: Contact patients and insurance companies to resolve outstanding balances and unpaid claims. Negotiate payment plans when needed.
  • Account Management: Review patient accounts, correct discrepancies, and ensure timely action on aging balances.
  • Billing & Claims Resolution: Address patient inquiries, resolve disputes, and verify insurance details to ensure smooth billing.
  • Compliance & Regulations: Stay up-to-date with medical billing laws and ensure all collection activities adhere to federal and state guidelines.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Provide regular updates to management on collection activities and suggest improvements for enhanced cash flow.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: 5+ years in medical billing, collections, or accounts receivable. Familiarity with EHR systems and medical billing software.
  • Skills: Strong understanding of medical billing/coding, exceptional communication, analytical abilities, and attention to detail. Knowledge of FDCPA and No Surprises Act.

Work Environment:

  • Fully remote position with standard business hours.
  • Occasional overtime may be required based on workload.
