As the associate general counsel of the Personal Lines Product Design Practice Group in Progressive’s Corporate Legal organization, you’ll lead, manage, and develop a team of attorneys, set functional and legal strategies, and ensure your team provides high-quality legal counsel to business leaders and others. Your team provides legal support to state product managers, product research and development, as well as others on countrywide initiatives related to new products, enhancements, and underwriting. Additionally, you’ll partner directly with and advise senior leaders across the company on complex legal aspects of insurance product design.

Must-have Qualifications



  • Juris doctor degree or Master of Laws (LLM) and a minimum of 10 years of post-degree legal practice experience, including 2 years of people/project leadership.

    • Active license to practice law in at least one state; Active or Corporate license in state where working (or eligible to be)

    Preferred Skills



  • Expertise in personal lines insurance product design, including auto, special lines (motorcycle, boat, recreational vehicle, travel trailer), and property (homeowners, dwelling fire, renters, condo, umbrella)

    • Significant understanding of personal lines product policy forms, underwriting, and rating
    • Significant experience managing, leading and developing people, teams, processes, and multifunctional projects
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify and effectively communicate complex legal issues to business stakeholders
    • Excellent collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to build strong relationships with legal and business colleagues

    Compensation

    • $221,000 - $245,800/year
    • Gainshare bonus up to 70% of your eligible earnings based on company performance.
    • Participation in our restricted stock units plan.
