This is a remote position with flexible location options. The role primarily involves working from home, but occasional travel for company retreats and client meetings may be required.

The Role

In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring our content meets the highest standards for inquiry-driven, results-based, and culturally responsive literacy curricula. Reporting to the Director of Curriculum, you will contribute to content development, including vision setting, curriculum writing, unit and lesson reviews, and creating supplemental materials as needed. This position offers an exciting opportunity for a skilled curriculum developer to advance our mission of closing the educational opportunity gap with high-quality curricula.

Key Responsibilities

  • Content Development:
    • Lead the development of K-5 Math curriculum content, including writing, reviewing, revising, and editing.
    • Maintain rigorous quality standards for curriculum.
    • Utilize deep knowledge of instructional design, pedagogy, and Common Core Standards for Mathematics.
    • Collaborate across teams to develop curriculum and support materials.
    • Integrate feedback to continually enhance the product.
    • Demonstrate strong editorial skills, including precise writing, proofreading, and timely revisions.
  • Project Execution:
    • Support and guide curriculum writers.
    • Manage project timelines and deliverables effectively.
    • Communicate clearly and work collaboratively with team members.
    • Embrace a cycle of ideation, prototyping, and revision.
    • Work independently and adhere to a task-driven workflow.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Math or a related field with deep content knowledge in elementary and/or middle school math.
  • Superior writing and communication skills (writing sample required).
  • Teaching experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of History, Social Studies, or Science is a plus.
  • Experience with multilingual learners and diverse populations preferred.
  • Familiarity with Common Core State Standards is desired.
  • Experience leading teams or individuals.
  • Previous experience as a curriculum writer or developer is beneficial.
