Description

Are you a high-achieving finance professional with a passion for driving growth and operational excellence? In this pivotal role, you will report directly to the CEO and manage all aspects of finance and operations. As a key member of our executive team, you will collaborate closely with the founders to propel our company’s success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
    • Lead the financial planning process, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
    • Create financial forecasts based on company burn rate, customer data, and sales activities.
    • Use current financial data to project future trends and support decision-making across the company.
    • Develop and implement a treasury management plan in collaboration with our banking partners.
  • Corporate Matters:
    • Support due diligence processes and provide financial insights to potential investors during equity and debt transactions.
    • Manage investor relations, including information and audit requests.
    • Oversee insurance procurement and administration.
    • Handle state registrations and government reporting as required.
  • Revenue Operations:
    • Monitor pricing and margin policies in partnership with the sales team.
    • Collaborate with our legal team on customer contracts and revenue recognition.
    • Engage with clients during proposal phases and manage accounts receivables.
  • Accounting Operations:
    • Oversee all accounting operations, including AP/AR, financial reporting, revenue recognition, and tax.
    • Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls.
    • Manage the finance tech stack and integrations, including accounting, reporting tools, payment platforms, banks, and HR systems.
    • Handle external audits.
  • People and Benefits:
    • Manage the onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, contractors, and consultants.
    • Oversee employee benefits coverage and administration.
    • Develop employment policies and procedures to support organizational growth.
  • Equity/Salary and Rewards:
    • Oversee equity-related activities, including stock option plans, 409a valuations, and option exercises.
    • Lead the benchmarking process for compensation, bonuses, and equity rewards.
    • Build and manage the sales commission structure in relation to revenue.
Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in finance, ideally in an early-stage company or an enterprise B2B/cybersecurity setting, with a background as a Director of Finance or Head of Finance.
  • A proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with a drive for improvement and innovation.
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with a hands-on approach to getting things done.
  • Experience working with a Board of Directors and venture capital firms.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.

Work Hours & Location

As a remote-first company, we welcome qualified applicants from across the US and Canada. This role requires availability during core PST business hours (9am-5pm) and occasional adjustments based on business needs, including travel and client meetings.
