Finance Manager - Financial Planning & Analysis for High-Growth Startups

Are you passionate about financial planning and analysis? This role involves providing key financial services to a diverse portfolio of early-stage startups. You will collaborate with senior finance leaders to support high-growth clients, ranging from Seed to Series C stages. Your contributions will be crucial in analyzing business performance, developing detailed financial models, refining forecasting processes, and utilizing data to drive strategic decisions. Your expertise will help shape the financial future of innovative companies across various industries, including CPG, DTC, Technology, Crypto, and Professional Services.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain detailed financial models for various business models (e-commerce, tech, professional services, consumer goods).
• Develop and present business performance reports and custom financial KPI dashboards; report on KPIs monthly.
• Collaborate with the accounting team to review and verify monthly client financial performance.
• Conduct monthly variance analysis comparing actuals to budgets and evolving forecasts.
• Identify and execute analytical and modeling projects to add value beyond routine budgeting and review processes.
• Offer insights and advice based on best practices to enhance client results, improve processes, optimize costs, and drive sales growth.
• Extract strategic insights and broader business conclusions from data analysis.
• Connect analytical findings to broader industry trends and apply past experience and pattern recognition.
• Assist clients with fundraising efforts, including building investor-facing models, leading financial diligence, and working collaboratively.
• Contribute to the training and development of the Financial Analyst team.
  
  

Qualifications

• 4 to 6 years of experience in finance-focused roles, including:
• 2+ years in investment banking and/or consulting.
• 2+ years in FP&A or strategic finance within a technology or high-growth company.
• Strong team player with a solid work ethic.
• Exceptional financial modeling and presentation skills.
• Deep understanding of financial principles and expanding knowledge of accounting principles.
• Ability to build complex three-statement financial forecasts and provide in-depth variance analysis and insights.
• Comfort with data and ambiguity, and the ability to adapt priorities as needed.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts into actionable recommendations.
• Highly organized, with the ability to manage multiple client workstreams and respond to ad-hoc requests efficiently.
• Passion for mentoring and helping others grow within the organization.
