Role Overview

In this role, you will deliver top-notch accounting services to a diverse portfolio of fast-growing consumer brands, e-commerce, and food & beverage companies. You will lead a team of accountants in handling weekly, monthly, and year-end accounting tasks, focusing specifically on CPG and/or E-commerce sectors. This position involves close collaboration with our Accounting and Finance Directors to manage client relationships, oversee monthly financial reporting, and develop and implement effective accounting policies, procedures, and controls.

Responsibilities

Accounting & Reporting

  • Lead the month-end close process for a range of clients, coordinating with an international team of accountants to complete reconciliations and prepare supporting schedules.
  • Prepare monthly financial statements, including trend and variance analysis.
  • Oversee general accounting processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of financial information.
  • Enhance efficiency by documenting complex accounting processes and improving internal controls.
  • Handle federal, state, and local tax and compliance filings such as 1099s, Delaware Franchise, 3921s, etc.
  • Support clients through audits and due diligence as required.

Client Services

  • Provide high-quality service to a diverse portfolio of clients in various industries.
  • Partner with Directors/CFOs to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients’ accounting-related questions and needs.

Management & Collaboration

  • Mentor and support a team of accountants, reviewing their work and providing constructive feedback.
  • Delegate tasks to balance workloads and foster professional development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the company to implement and integrate new processes.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 6 years of operational accounting experience, with experience managing multiple clients.
  • Proven experience with full-cycle accounting for consumer product or food & beverage companies, including those selling through distributors, retailers, and direct to consumer.
  • Working knowledge of inventory management systems (e.g., Dear, Cin7 Core).
  • Proactive communicator with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
  • An undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred.
  • Passionate about supporting startups, learning, and driving process improvements.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel.

Salary Range

\(90,000 - \)110,000 plus bonus, benefits, and 401k match.
